Kaveney
My XXL BBK arrived last week From Torqen so I got round to fitting this at the weekend . First up was to remove the old disc and thought I would so how heavy they are . STD Rear 322mm disc @ 7.3 Kg New rear 356mm disc @ 9.0 Kg Ols vs new . The Rear disc dust shelled needs to be cut to house the bigger disc . Rear disc installed . New rear 6 pot calliper is a bit on the large side . With street pads . And installed . Then on to the front . Old front disc 324mm @ 9.0 Kg . New front 356mm @ 9.0 Kg . Old vs new . Again the front disc dust shelled needs to be cut to house the bigger disc . Front disc installed . New front 8 pot calliper is a monster . And next to the already large rear 6 pot . And installed The rear just fit with a few mm of clearance under the std 18†Rays . The fronts are even more tight but do just fit . All done and flushed / bleed with super blue fluid . Alan
Kaveney
Just a small update on the BBK I got from Torqen after a day after bedding the system in . The great think about the kit is that it has the same feel as my old Brembo set up in as far as when you touch the peddle at slow speeds it does not grab or is too sensitive . I would say at ¼ to ½ peddle travail the force / stopping power is the same as my Brembo set up with DS2500 ( DS2500 when hot ) pads S/S lines and new discs . From then on at ¾ the car stops like it has hit a tree and I still have not given them the full on stamp . I will see how much better they get when fully bedding in . andy10v
That is a rather nice collections of mods you have fitted, whats next on the list? Is the harness bar a GCFabrications one? Is there any change you could measure the height of it from the floor or roof or ledge so I can check harness angles. Are you getting seats to go with the harness bar? Did you notice any difference going from the stillen to the 06 airbox? The new brakes really fill the wheels, looks great!
Kaveney
Yes it is indeed the GCF one and im only using it for a inside brace so I will be keeping the stock seats . I will see if I can get a some measurements but it does not block the rear view or boot space . O6 air box is not mapped yet but does feel better and better on part throttle more sharp but you do lose the noise of the Stillen . Brakes are stunning that is all I can say ART pipes and another UPrev tune will be next . Alan That is a rather nice collections of mods you have fitted, whats next on the list? Kaveney
Got another little job done at the weekend . First was to change the old tired gear knob . Old knob I got a re trimmed gear know of a member from Hide 'N' Seat . Old and the new Also I re aligned the shifter throw and re greased the cup and ball on the gear linkage . Then fitted a new alcantara gear surround and handbrake surround . Old vs new . All done and put back together . I went for the orange stitch to match the seat stitching . Ogman
Looking good chap. You get the shorter rear brake lines sorted then? You'll love the ART test pipes, got them on mine, love the sound and I find the accelerator more responsive
