Kizzyiee Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice relating to insuring a 350z. I've just passed my driving test, I've found the car I want and can afford, now its time for insurance. Where can I go to get the best possible insurance for the cheapest price. I'm not looking for comprehensive, literally the cheapest insurance that gets me on the road. Just a little about myself; - Passed driving test FEB/2015 - First car will be 350z - 21 years old Thank you. First post! Quote
WhackyWill Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Welcome to The Land of Zed.. Use the "search" facility..there a zillion threads on insurance and a dedicated section in "Forum"... 1 Quote
Grundy Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 There's no 'Cheap' Insurance company I'm afraid Whats good for one is crap for another person You just need to ring around. Main factor will be Your Age/Years of license and Postcode. Good luck. 1 Quote
iwanprice12 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Have a look on the comparison sites for a rough estimate but phone various companies for a ball park figure. I would DEFINITELY advise at having fully comp, otherwise your Zed won't be covered for repair if you have an accident. With you only just passing your test, I'd imagine that insurance would be quite hefty in your case.... Quote
MCook Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Cheapest for me was Admiral, through compare the market. Fully comp on my 19th Birthday was £1300 with one years ncb, but as you are 21 you will be able to look at adrian flux etc, the more specialised insurance companies, as above there are a few insurance company traders on here, shop about! 370Ad Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 When I was 21 with the 50 Admiral came out trumps through confused.com. Give it a go and see! Quote
evilscorp Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Remember running costs...... best to start with a cheap to run/fix banger and see how you go before progressing. Don't mean to sound like a dick but would hate to see you have the car you want, but have to give it up. Car's can be fickle things and throw spanners in the works, I found it a steep financial learning curve with my first sports car. 1 Quote
Ekona Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Meh, if you can afford £2k for the insurance then you can afford to run the car, just do it. I passed when I was 21, a month later I'd flogged my old 1.3 escort and bought a brand new 1.8 Focus. I felt like a god Do remember it's RWD though, not FWD like the car you learnt in. Wish someone had told that to me before I got my first proper car. 1 Quote
ZEUS Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I don't think it will be cheap as you have just passed your test but good on you . A 350 as a first car, mine was a fiat panda! 1 Quote
ioneabee Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 my personal advice would be get a year driving under your belt (not in a performance sports car) - be patient ........your time will come 3 Quote
GMballistic Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 my personal advice would be get a year driving under your belt (not in a performance sports car) - be patient ........your time will come +1 imo. ....But if you decide to ignore us Op then as others have mentioned try "Go Compare" or a similar site to hopefully find you the best insurance quote. Good luck. Quote

GMballistic Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Getting quotes of around £4000... Not surprised really. It's a performance 3.5L V6 car and despite being over 21 you have literally zero years of driving experience. 1 Quote
ZEUS Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Christ! I'm not surprised though really., buy a cheap run around for a year and go from there Quote
evilscorp Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Take Dan's offer then, £2000 sounds like a bargain. Quote
MCook Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 One years no claims will really make a big difference. Quote
