Dave@Deepcar Autobodies
Newbie to the 350z scene, but certainly not to Jap cars. Owned various things over the years, currently own two MX5s, a Toyota Sera (ongoing project), 2 VW vans a golf and a Hayabusa but heres our latest show car. It has a rare Pitcrew Racing front end, very marmite but we love it. We got this one customised and modded just in time for JAE last year so hopefully will be taking it to plenty of shows this year. Paddy78
Wow, I do like that a lot! Is there a build thread somewhere? and hope to see a 350 modded to that standard very soon!

Jetpilot
Remember a lot of interest for Pitcrews when i was on Mx5nutz whilst i had my mk1 bbr, not my cup of tea, but appreciate the rarity
StevoD
pitcrews are very hit or miss for me they either look really bad wannabe kit cars or superb that one looks superb just think it needs a hardtop

GMballistic
Quite like that. Sort of look's like it could have been part of the late 90's early 00's TVR family.
Dave@Deepcar Autobodies
Cheers guys. Weve got quite a history with the MX5's, and do a LOT of them in our bodyshop. Great fun little cars. Shame they are so lacking on power buy hey ho. We are however putting a BBR turbo engine in it very shortly so that should give it a bit more edge. The BBR turbo set up still isnt powerful, but to be honest, this car isnt about that so we dont mind. SteveoD, hardtop is on the to do list this year too Heres a couple of the other MX5's we have had ourselves: Autosports International last January, our Red MK3: 'Black Beauty'...a deep cherry black colour with Tuckin99 wide arches at JAE 2012; Yellow MK3 JAE 2013: This one isnt ours but we paint a lot of race cars for the MAX5 race series: Paul Roddisons on the Nankang tyre stand at Autosport Int 2014 A few others lined up for MAX5 series: Think we painted all but 3 in this picture a couple of customers custom builds we have done too: V6 Italia 280zx Splitty Another MX5 We are really lucky that we get to work on some great cars! Jetpilot
BBR's are pretty good, just get rid of the fuel cut on the ecu @ 7psi, some 550 injectors from a Rx7 and you shoud get 170hp ish, have a couple freshly refurbed 550's here if your ever in need
Dave@Deepcar Autobodies
Thanks! I may well PM you about that matey cheers. We actually came about the engine by accident to be honest, a customer offered us his car that was rotten but mechanically sound and had lots of goodies worth saving so we broke the car and decided to keep engine for the pitcrew. We popped it on rolling road and it came in at 165hp...as opposed to the 150hp it should be!
Jetpilot
No worries, i bought a Link ecu and the 550's to get rid of the 7psi boost limit and was aiming for 180+, but decided to sell up and go back to Rx7's, really enjoyed the time i had in it though and it never ceased to amaze me just how cheap you could buy decent parts for 2nd hand, apart from things like your front end obviously. Dave@Deepcar Autobodies
Yes they are amazingly cheap, we were really lucky with the pitcrew and found the car on Ebay for an absolute steal. The lady that owned it had bought it as a fresh import, she knew it was 'an unusual' one but didnt quite realise what it was, even though she had looked it up. She was really sad to see it go (cried when we were leaving with it ) as she loved it but couldnt run it for her new job or afford to fix it up. We sent her all the build pics as it was going on and she was chuffed to bits bless her.
