Help with slam panel what am i doing wrong:(

Ok so just got my slam panel and popped off the plastic caps and fitted it right on no problems. Then when I go to close bonnet it wont close so then took off other part of clip to reduce the height to see if it was the height closed it again still nothing. This is so frustrating an easy job like this but cant get bonnet to close.

Are you putting the slam panel under the bumper lip or on top? Try both methods to see which works best?

Seems like the bonnet is now to far away to the latch so wont connect

Have you moved the latch up? There are 3 10mm bolts on it. Loosen and raise and you should be sorted. I had to when I fitted my slam panel

is the bonnet stay up rod thing getting in the way? thats what happened with mine

Yep when I got my catch blinged by Mark he did mention i may need to adjust if i fitted a slam panel - luckily was OK

And then buy yourself the polished catch from mopedmark to finish off that area

Any guides for doing this had a look and cant see any bolts that look like I would adjust. If it matters have a 2005 z

Loosen the three bolts that hold on the bonnet catch. Then lift the catch slightly (it does move about with the three bolts loosened). Do them up fingertight while holding the catch in position, then tighten then with your spanner/ratchet.

Yes you need to adjust the bonnet catch slightly. I didn't do this when I fitted my slam panel and eventually ended up getting the bonnet to close but then it wouldn't open again! So then had to adjust the catch lol.

it will sort it once you have adjusted the catch up like the other guys have mentioned, its a 50-50 weather you have to or not mate.

If your still struggling and haven't already, make sure you remove the slam panel to get to the bolts

Bonnet fell on my head and was trapped out there all night was calling for help and my neighbour came over thinking she was going to help but said "that's what you get for having a loud exhaust" walked away

Yeah managed to get it sorted only took 5 mins but fell asleep straight after so never posted up sooner.(hate switching from nightshift to day) thanks guys
