Jixaman Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Bummer, keyfob stopped working and cant find the wee cr1620 battery in stores... Looks like a trip on public transport to a big town... Seeing ah'll be walkin to the bus stop can anyone with ancestoral links to the Blackfoot tribe call on some rain to complete the missery... Cheers... Quote
mouthwash Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 If you were near enough I'd offer to follow you around with a super soaker but good luck with the rain. 2 Quote
-Bradders- Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 cant you open the car with the key normally? Quote
Jixaman Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 Yea but the alarm goes off... Which I thought was odd... Quote
-Bradders- Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 that is odd. lol what if you open it, then use the central locking button inside to unlock all the doors? Quote
Mudman Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 pop battery/key on a radiator until its warm (not hot!) then try again - you might get lucky Quote
Jixaman Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 Sitrep: Got battery, raced back to bus stop just in time to see bus leave... Another hour to wait... This is by far the best reason as to why I would rather burn twenty quid a day and play my part in killing all living things on the planet with the ensuing greenhouse gasses by using the Z... 1 Quote
alfa_owner Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Should have mentioned.. if you open the door with the key.. then get in and start the car alarm should stop! I'd rather lose my left testicle than use public transport! Quote
Stutopia Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Once you pop the keys in the ignition and turn her over the alarm goes off. Then proceed as normal. Nice to try the bus every now and again for variety though Quote
Jixaman Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 Aaaaaggghh.... Old lady just tried to engage in conversation... Quote
Alize Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 😱 sorry for your ordeal Jixaman! But....I've learnt what to do if this ever happens to me! Enjoy the bus......not lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Keyser Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 (edited) O I so hope you have to go on a long trip using public transport some time - do keep the sitreps coming Edited October 23, 2014 by Keyser Quote
Jixaman Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 Yea but I live fifteen quid from anywhere... .... ..... M, good point... Anyway, I have no idea where I am now as the bus seems to go via Belgrade... Quote
Jixaman Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 Being an Alfa owner you must have to do it often... sorry, couldnt resist... 1 Quote
Tricky-Ricky Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 (edited) At least its not one of those busses with no driver that they are going to introduce I think if it was me I would have hunted out a battery with the same voltage and a soldering iron and bodged it to avoid a bus ride. Jixaman Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 Keep calm Mr Jixa, all is well... Battery replaced and working... Heart failure the first attempt when it didnt and I thought the key had lost its pairing to the car but the battery was upside down... Happy days... Cheers guys... 2 Quote
ZMANALEX Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Why did you not phone or PM ? Got loads of these bats in stock, however guess you just wanted to test out your bus pass. Glad that you are all sorted mate. Quote
Jixaman Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 (edited) Needed the car on the road, the engine in that old van gave way, has over 300 thousand miles on it... I need to get a new engine fitted but it had to wait as I chose to get a new kart for the wee man instead of a new engine for the van... Some may say stupid but I think I got my priorities right... Alex, I'll get a couple from you as I'v got 2 keys, well 3 keys but only 2 are fobs one is just a key... Edited October 23, 2014 by Jixaman Quote
