mbs Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Been a member since i bought my 350Z in 2005 but as i am a dinosaur when it comes to IT have never plucked up the nerve to post an intro. I have found the site great for advice on the few problems I have had, clicking rear axle, BOSE CD player etc so I thought it only courteous to say hello and thanks. I'm the wrong side of 60 but feel half that age since I traded my 5 series BMW for the Z. Now thinking of trading my 05 GM for either the new 07 in black or the TTcoupe quattro, not sure any thoughts? MBS Quote
GC350z Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I traded in my 04 Blue Pearl for an 07 Black. Love it. Much better drive and sooo much faster in my opinion. Quote
rmmackfc Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Not a fan of the TT to be honest, although I can understand why you may want to change manufacturer for something different. New Z has more grunt, so it should feel different. Quote

Delighted that you finally said hello and glad that you've enjoyed the site in that time. Unless you need the two extra seats (I suspect your kids have grown up by now ) or you want the security of 4wd (I also suspect you know how to drive by your age ) then I'd give the TT a miss. You know what its like to have the best looking, best driving coupe out there, anything else would be a disappointment! Quote
nixy Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Hello there! Nice to have another Yorkshire person in for a chat! Can't give you any advice on comparing those two cars but I'm sure plenty of the others will give you some 'unbiased' advice! Quote
H5 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Welcome - I think!! Thoughts on the TT - shut your eyes, take away the glorious noise your Zed makes, replace it with more road noise, and imagine driving a VW Golf...... Got it? There you are! Quote
M13KYF Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 get a new Z if you fancy a change. The TT are already getting common and in a years time when the expand the range like they did in the past, they'll be a s common as muck. Quote
mbs Posted September 12, 2007 Author Posted September 12, 2007 Thanks for the advice, think I'll stick with the new Z and borrow the wifes car to pick up the grand kids from school. Quote
H5 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Thanks for the advice, think I'll stick with the new Z and borrow the wifes car to pick up the grand kids from school. Or do shuttle runs so they can be cool in their Grandad's racing car!! Quote

Ebized Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Hi mbs and welcome. Cor, you have made my day, someone older than me (I'm on the right side of 60 but only just!) Quote
mbs Posted September 12, 2007 Author Posted September 12, 2007 Great we must start an over 60's club, show the young ones they are not the only ones to be able to enjoy themselves. Quote
Trev-the-Rev Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Hi and I don't quite qualify for the over 60s club yet, but am not too far away. Quote

bronzee Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Now you've been brave enough to pluck up the courage don't be a stranger. Well over 3 years ago now when I was looking at cars, I drove the TT, and in comparison to me, the TT didn't quite produce the goods, not enough power, wasn't too thrilled with the handling. But different strokes for different folks. Happy shopping. Quote
