Zzzz... Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 some pics pulled from jap mags... 1st set looks pretty cool. enjoy... or it could look like this... what you guys think.... Quote
xStric9x Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 I feel that if and when they bring out a new z it needs to be a complete different shape, its like watching a sequel to a film, its never as good as the first. Let the 350z be completly original, don't start tweeking it and then call it something else. Quote
P15UL T Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 really like the bottom pics, very aggro ! oh and nice socks Quote
martinmac Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 I like it, difficult call though, as xStric9x says its a variation on the 350. The pre-release for the 350z did however say that they were trying to retain the underlying Z concept and just update/upgrade it. As such it seems like they have succeded. Quote
redzed Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 1st looks great......... 2nd pic bloody awful Quote
rmmackfc Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 On the 1st pic, looks like 2 VXR220 exhausts.... not keen. Agree with martinmac, it should be a complete change....maybe it's the same guy that designed the boxter and its replacement Quote
Digsy Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 The only one I don't like is the the rear on 1st pic - far too bulbous. I don't have a problem with an evolutionary design provided its sufficiently different to recognise it as the new model i.e. not like the Cockster. Quote
choptop Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 It is the new Infiniti Branded 350z. Infiniti is the `posh end` of Nissan cars like Toyota and Lexus. Infiniti is being launched as a brand in the UK next year. They will also be doing a glass folding roof version of this. Whether it will be on sale in the UK is anyone`s guess. I am currently in Japan and will see if I can get any more info on it. Quote
bronzee Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Similar pictures have been bandied around on my350z & 350z-tech a bit. Interest, even though it's not confirmed, that the eyelids that a lot put on their 350's in the US have been incorporated into these picys. Quote
M13KYF Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I think the first one points to the metal folding roof hinted at recently and if look carefully you can see the joins on the pillars Quote
Ebized Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I think the first one points to the metal folding roof hinted at recently and if look carefully you can see the joins on the pillars I'm off to get a new pair of glasses, budger if I can see the joins Quote

Chesterfield Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 That would also explain the flat, almost saloon type, rear portion of the boot. To give the necessary cover and storage area for the folding top. Quote

Trev-the-Rev Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 A bit more speculation here: http://carbuyerguide.blogspot.com/2007/ ... -350z.html Quote
WoREoD Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I think these are all speculation - the first one doesn't have the bonnet bulge the new (current) engine requires ........ Rumours elsewhere say the folding roof will be Glass.... I'll just wait and see!! Quote

There's a reason why Astons use soft-tops.... Quote
neo Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 i'll reserve my judgement till i see real photos of the new or smaller Z Quote

Infinity is already a brand in the US, where they have their own range - pretty sure they will just sell that same range here. No reason to move the Z from Nissan to Infinity - think of all the heritage. Infinity is the luxury brand, Nissan don't class the Z as a "luxury" car, it's a "sports" car, which Nissan do. The G37 ( recently replaced the G35 ) is the luxury version of the Z I may be proved wrong in fullness of time, but don't think so - I say that the Zed will continue to be a Nissan Gus Quote

The last 12 characters say (metaritopurodosuta) which equates to "Metallic-Top Roadster" that's about as far as my GCSE jap gets to... Quote
