ro88ie Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 After 3k miles on my new clutch and lightweight flywheel I have begun suffering some slippage. This first happened few weeks and a couple hundred miles ago when I went for a spirited drive and then the car was sat running for 20 minutes or so, as I drove off anything over 2.5k revs would slip. A few minutes later and it was fine. Next day I tried the clutch test by flooring it at low speed in high gear and no problems at all. This weekend the problem reappeared when I stopped at motorway services on a hot day and when I set off same problem occurred. It would appear to me as though something is overheating when stationary and once I get some air running through all is fine. Has anyone experienced something similar or know what this could be? The Chubby Ninja Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Did you change the fluid when you done the clutch? 1 Quote
Neilp Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Yep sounds like it could be a fluid or slave issue Quote
Ricey Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Checked the fluid level to ensure no leaks as well Quote
Ewen@Clark Motorsport Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 As the guys have said sounds like a possible hydraulic issue, the slave cylinder is a common failure. We stock a kit with a new cylinder, braided line and Motul RBF 600 should you need it 1 Quote
4RE Leather Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Has your fluid started to go black? If it has your slave is knackered as when it starts to go the fluid starts to turn black. or it did on mine. 2 Quote
Jixaman Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Slave, braided line and RBF600 (or similar spec), should be on everyones tick list... Quote
cyberfella Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I have all new CC stage 2 clutch and lightened flywheel, braided line, slave cyl and motul fluid and mines fine in forward gears but slips like hell in reverse on my drive. Maybe my driving, I don't know, but when I'm putting it away, I can always hear it meeoowww as it slips part way up the drive, then there's the faint smell of burned plate in the cockpit and in the garage when i get out. 4RE Leather Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Sounds like your exhaust fried the pussy cat as it was eating its food from a plate behind the car at the time!! 1 Quote
brother_david Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I dont like cats... I had an issue some time ago which i assume has to do with the slave cylinder. The clutch pedal felt loose when pressed half way down. Went back to normal over night. Running ACT flywheel and clutch. Quote
ro88ie Posted August 11, 2014 Author Posted August 11, 2014 Iv had the same when reversing up hill on to my drive too 1 Quote
