Isn't a Vette less than 500 bhp and no way 9/10 fuel economy?

I could be horribly wrong of course! :)

Edit: Z06 is 505 bhp but my fuel efficiency comment still stands!

It was a Corvette Z06, so very well done to those who got that.

I have had quite a few American cars, but this was magic. What an engine. 7011cc. Much of the motor is race-spec as std.

9 out of 10 for fuel on a run is correct. Just 1400 kgs, a very low drag coefficient and a humungous 6th gear means 28mpg on a run. That is ace for 505bhp.

Gearing is long. 55/85/120/155/190 at redline in gears 1-5. 6th is 100 mph/2,400 rpm.

That Z06 has dry sump lubrication, titanium rods, forged pistons, forged steel crank, carbon panels, composite floor of plastic and balsa wood, all sorts of weight-saving stuff and the engine is really a unique and great mix of ancient OHV, 2v per cylinder technology and modern race design.

I loved it. It was like my 370Z on steroids. Same kinda shape too.

The new one is a different beast and very expensive here. Smaller, supercharged engine. This one is over 7 litres but revs to 7,000 rpm!

It sounds like it has everything going for it, but that American styling is just naaaaasty! Something even it's mother couldn't love.

The front view is fantastic, as good as any Ferrari. The side view is it's least attractive angle. The rear view is great.

The only downside is LHD.

I definitely prefer the older versions (like this one, I guess?) with the circular rear lights - not as much of a fan of the new one from a styling perspective.

I think people tend to use Photobucket to upload pictures.

'68 Stingray is such an achingly cool looking car! They definitely had much more bulbous curves at that time.

I had a 1969 with a 454 cubic inch motor. 4 speed manual. 504 bhp courtesy of 2 4-barrel Holley carbs 850cfm, totally built and balanced engine as they say, straight through exhaust, big cam.
