Damp sponge app

So you apply the polish/wax to a damp foam to apply?

Is this to reduce marring?

Yes, less is more, it also makes it easier to buff, majority advise damp application

Try it, warm water, squeeze the sponge til it's just damp :thumbs:

It depends entirely on the product and the paint.

But generally;

Polish - depends on what correction I'm trying achieve with it, but then I rarely polish by hand these days anyway.

Trim restorers - either a foam pad or a cotton make-up pads.

Wax - either nothing or with a foam applicator (either a finger foam jobbie or a Megs type/circular foam jobbie).

I find micro applicators dont half suck up the product your using........causes a fair bit of wastage. They're also a bugger for picking up dirt and merrily dragging it along your newly prepared bodywork!

Foam is definitely better.
