gort Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Hi Guys. The clutch pedal is not returning to the top of it's travel, and is sticking about half way down, I have to manually move it by getting my foot underneath the pedal and pull it up, anybody know what the problem is?. Quote
buster Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) could be clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder or even clutch. check your fluid first. Edited April 19, 2014 by buster Quote
Ekona Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 As above, master or slave. Change both, labour is the expensive bit not the parts themselves. Quote
gort Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) thanks for the info it's a brand new clutch and fly wheel, the pedal seems to be binding on something Edited April 19, 2014 by gort Quote
Ewen@Clark Motorsport Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 The slave cylinder is a very common weak point on the 350Z it does sound like you have issues with the hydraulic system. Quote
gort Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 forgot to mention I adjusted the pedal height, using this guide.. http://www.350z-uk.c...t-clutch-pedal/ maybe be I should wind it back and see if that does the trick Quote
gort Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) just found this, could be the clevis pin, and the ASCD switch Edited April 19, 2014 by gort Quote
AliveBoy Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 I had the issue and changing my slave fixed it, took no more than an hour Quote
Martinjj Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Mine is at the garage now waiting for me to pick it up on Saturday, CSC (concentric slave cylinder),slight difference with mine it just was flat to the floor rather than halfway... Quote
JLJ87 Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Does this problem get worse if not fixed? Mine does the same thing! Quote
philw99 Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Mine does the same after having a new clutch, was going to do the adjustments. However maybe that's no good??? Quote

Jeff E Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 I am having this problem. Everything fine when I set off but after half hour or so, when presumably heated up, the pedal does not come back up. First indication is a loud thump as the pedal has stuck when I have taken my foot off and then suddenly unsticks. Then worsens and have to lift it up with my foot. At no time to date have I had a problem with the clutch not engaging/slipping. I am therefore hoping that the posted clevis pin sticking is the cause. Quote
philw99 Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 I've got the same after a clutch change that I'm looking at tomorrow. Going to test the adjustment Quote
Z_Lover Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 In most cases the problems occurs if the clutch isnt correct bleeded. do the bleeding of the clutch as it is described in the manual,..........i had the same problem last year but after a correct bleeding of the system the problem had gone.If u did the bleeding correct,.........maybe the slave clutch cylindre is bad,.....change this item Greets Michael Quote
Meeerrrk Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 After clutch and flywheel change, had the same problem. Slave cylinder, braided hose and new fluid, clutch feels better than ever Quote
philw99 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 After clutch and flywheel change, had the same problem. Slave cylinder, braided hose and new fluid, clutch feels better than ever Did you order a standard slave cylinder or can you buy an uprated one? I'm going to do the same as currently my clutch is awful especially went its heats up. Seems ok cold. Quote
Ewen@Clark Motorsport Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 As far as I know there is no uprated one for the DE only the HR that runs a concentric type. The kit we sell for the DE includes a new Nissan slave cylinder, Hosetechnik stainless clutch line and 500ml of Mogul RBF600 for £119.95 Quote

I think it was just an oem nissan one but a braided hose Quote
