hello from a future owner :)

Recommended Posts

Hello!

an old owner of 2 300zx TT's (one short wheel base) i have decided to buy my wife a 350z as she didnt like the 300's but always fancied a 350z.

Its her birthday soon so been looking at the buyers advice etc. Got 7k to spend but all the low mileage ones i am looking for seem to be 06's, i have desperately been trying to avoid revups as the oil consumption and idea of having a duff car soon after purchase scares me as i want it as a reliable daily runner for her and some fun on weekends for me :)

i can test a car normally as bought alot of cars in the past but with the oil consumption its something i fear i cant prove when viewing as it takes time to build a picture of its consumption. The ones i viewed were full service history but obviously that doesnt mean much as i doubt they mention oil levels anywhere

i know that this can happen on any car but with 06's having a particular rep for it, is it best to stay away from revup engine?

Good to be aboard!

Kind Regards

Damien

:welcome: to the forum

I think you've answered your own question there. As you said, there is no way of knowing the oil consumption before you buy the car as it takes time to build up a picture. If you've any doubts then avoid them. You'll be paying more road tax on the later 06's so you might as well stretch your budget to £9.5k and get your missus an HR. This is what i decided to do after searching around a few months ago.

Good luck with the search

Well viewed one today in Coventry. Misfire on idle evrey now and again and cel light which he swear wasn't there earlier on when he put fuel. Needless to say it's been 3 hours driving, a bit gutting as it looks the part with the gun metal grey nismo kit at a supposed 46k miles but not worth a risk as neither him or I can check code. The hunt continues and I,m enjoying the hotel :)
