oldbonesmcgee Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Hi! I've seen that Almera (or one very similar) at Crail. Sadly my PB is 15 seconds in a Saab 9-3 haha. Where about are you? Love the wheels. Quote
Dave Bull Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 Hi! I've seen that Almera (or one very similar) at Crail. Sadly my PB is 15 seconds in a Saab 9-3 haha. Where about are you? Love the wheels. Nah, it would have been this one that you had saw, as it was quite unique. As for your PB, good stuff! You have to start somewhere. My first time at Crail was in my first Almera GTi and I ran best of 15.2. Less than 10 years later (and my wallet a lot lighter) I was into the 11's at the same track. It's all a case of 'how fast do you wanna go'! Thanks, the wheels do set the car off and it allowed me to fit the wider tyres that I wanted. I'm now just outside of Glasgow, nearer Cumbernauld. What about yourself? Quote
ioneabee Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 That Micra look's pretty cool if I'm honest. Had one for my first car but it was the 1988 Mark 1 Micra 998cc so the only thing I did in 12.18seconds in that thing was the 0-40mph dash. crickey - it made it to 40mph welcome Quote
Dave Bull Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 Did quite a few things today! I fitted... B&M Short Shifter JWT Clutch ZSP Pilot Bushing (Needle Bearing) Torque Solutions Billet Transmission Mount ZSP Heavy Duty Clutch Slave Cylinder ZSP Heavy Duty Clutch Master Cylinder Drivetrain is well and truly solid now! I also added... Mishimoto Air Intake Hoses HKS Drop-In Air Filters No noticeable improvement in power, but then again I wasn't expecting miracles! Can't wait to fit the 4.08 gears to see the improvement! 1 Quote

Dave Bull Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 Heading down to TDI North next Thursday to have the Uprev remap carried out! With the HKS drop-in filters, Motordyne ART test pipes and Motordyne Shockwave TDX V2 catback dual system, what kinda figures should I be expecting? I just hope the cost of the exhaust system is worthwhile! Quote

Take a look at the dyno info results thread to see if there are any cars with similar mods of the same age. May be nowhere near what yours gets though. Dave Bull Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 I'm having a full service including new oils and spark plugs carried out on the morning of the mapping session, so it should be at it's best! I'll let you know the results in due time! Quote
