Joe's Azure Blue 350z GT

Hi all,

As some of you already know I've recently bought Pierre's '54 plate Azure Blue 350z GT. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it at Tradelink and put a deposit down with the intention of picking up a week later. I've owned the car for two weeks now and I love it even more, it's great to drive and it's my first RWD experience too.

It was hard for me to part with my previous car, my '95 Civic EG (some of you may know me from Civiclife.net). I've spent the past two years on dedicating my time and money to it, converting it from a 1.3 carb engine to a 1.8 Type R VTEC engine fully kitted with Skunk2/Spoon Sports parts. I'll show you some before & after pics below, from when I first bought it to how it was before I broke it for bits.

It's emotional, even now haha. But that's the last pictures of the finished product really. BUT, moving swiftly on to the more important subject, my current project below:

The spec is exactly the same as how Pierre had it, and I can tell it's been really well looked after. Glad I've bought it from someone off here, really was aiming for that.

I've got no major plans for it right now so won't be dealing with turbo's etc, but for now my plans include:

- New exhaust system (would love a genuine Nismo system, but more likely gonna be Tanabe or Milltek)

- Nismo bodykit mix & match (most likely gonna go for a full v1 kit, but tempted to get the v2 front bumper)

- New alloys (badly want some genuine Ray/Volk's TE37's, anybody know of somewhere that'll import them?)

- New lowering springs or coilovers

Thanks,

Joe

Well I've officially made two changes to the 350 now, and they're the most critical changes ever...

 - Not too sure what the next mods that I'm gonna make will be, most likely lowering springs or coilovers, I'm mainly focusing on the exterior/interior bits and bobs for now as the performance won't be touched for a while, but hey I've made a start!

Well, I haven't done an update in a while so here's some more progress!

This weekend I decided to finally get around to cleaning my exhaust up. Ever since I bought the car I noticed the exhaust had heat marks/rust/grit which ruined the look of the rear end to me. It only took 2 hours of elbow grease but here are the results:

Before:

After:

Both tips have come up REALLY nice haha, so glad they're shiny again and look proper. I polished up the resonator too but didn't get any pics, but tbh it was shiny already so now it just looks even better.

In case any of you wanted to do the same, I used the following products:

- Autosol 75ml Metal Polish (Paste)

- Autosol Metal Polish (Liquid)

- Wire Wool Pads (Buy a few, you'll use at least 4)

- 2x Microfibre Cloth

Some other little new additions too:

Also bought 5L 5w-30 Fuchs Titan Race Pro S to top up on oil and got 1L free! I checked the coolant/water levels recently and they're all good so she's being well looked after :D.

Pretty sure the droplinks and rear brakes need doing soon so most likely gonna have to cover the cost of that before I buy any more mods or anything but I do want the Nismo fuel cap/oil cap and gear knob so those will be next if I can afford them all mwahahaha.
