OV53 Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 So after much deliberation I've finally bit the bullet and booked the Z in to have her nails painted. I've gone with the Alloy Wheel Specialist in Westerhope (bigup!) and the colour on the 19" Rota GTRs will be a satin anthrcite/charcoal. Price all in will be £375 for same day and a courtesy car too! Do it nice or do it twice! Quote
Tinyflier Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I used The Wheel Specialist in East Grinstead - if your guys are as good as they are you will be very happy! David Quote
fellsteruk Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Planning on getting the same job /colour on my rays keen to see before and after shots Quote
OV53 Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Will do bonny lad! Do it nice or do it twice! Quote
Luke0549 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Bloody hell that's expensive! Did you know that many company's that say they need to keep your wheels for a few days actually just send them to these guys who are fantastic, then give them back to you making a huge profit? http://www.wheelrefurbishing.co.uk/pricelist.htm Quote
MITZ@CougarStore Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Looking forward to seeing the end result... Quote

The Wheel Specialist do it in house and because I don't have a spare set I'm more than happy to pay a bit extra to have them in and out on the same day, plus the courtesy car is a massive bonus! Do it nice or do it twice! Quote
Luke0549 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 But you are paying nearly double! Just seems crazy to me. You could have taken your wheels off, posted them, hired a car for the day and STILL have saved money! Oh well, at least you know for next time! Quote
AliveBoy Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 But you are paying nearly double! Just seems crazy to me. You could have taken your wheels off, posted them, hired a car for the day and STILL have saved money! Oh well, at least you know for next time! But the agro of time waiting for a courier to collect, the courier losing his wheels, the arrival day won't count as a day to work on them for the refurb company, neither will the return day, so you're looking at nearly 5 days. (Posting to refurb compay, recieving day, working day, returning day, delivery day) So hire car for 5 days + postage there + postage back + refurb = lots. Quote
OV53 Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Pretty certain the courier bill both ways and the hire car for 2 or 3 days would bring it to about even. Plus I'm supporting a local business. Do it nice or do it twice! Quote
OV53 Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 It's only £150 more anyway nowhere near double. Do it nice or do it twice! Quote
Luke0549 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Don't bite my head off for it, just trying to save you money pal. Quote
OV53 Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Not biting your head off at all marra. Just explaining my reasoning. We cool? Do it nice or do it twice! Quote
Ridz Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 As an ex pat Geordie, now living in Manchester, I used the local Wheelspecialist to refurb the alloys on my Honda Accord, over 12 months ago and they still look great! Good same day service. My 2006 Zed roadster, with original Rays, needs a wheel refurb, needless to say, I'll be asking wheelspecialist for a quote! Quote
ddcboyle Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Have you told those guys about your quote? Upload pics when done Quote
OV53 Posted August 9, 2013 Author Posted August 9, 2013 So after a bit of a delay, here is the result of a same day service from The Wheel Specialist in Westerhope near Newcastle. I can't recommend them enough, it's like having a completely different set of wheels altogether. Sorry about the pic heaviness of this post! Quote
Gudzy Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 (edited) They do look nice, I just hope you don't kerb them though, otherwise you'll have to have them done twice Edited August 17, 2013 by Gudzy 1 Quote
OV53 Posted August 9, 2013 Author Posted August 9, 2013 This do look nice, I just hope you don't kerb them though, otherwise you'll have to have them done twice Nice! No doubt I'll get back and the missus will have trashed them all! Quote
OV53 Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 Thanks man! To be honest I wish I'd taken photos of the originals to show just how bad they were. 1 Quote
