Kev946 Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 The new Evo does look nice. BTW do you guys realise this thread would be locked if it was on the OC. Quote
Stew Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 I'd love a 911. I just adore the shape and have always wanted one. Not sure what my next car will be. Can't see anything better for me than a Zed at the moment. If I stay childless then I'd like the 911, if not then probably a jeep or a nice saloon car! Quote
greg Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 If you want a Zed with four seats, then the closest thing is the 350GT aka G35. Same engine, same tuneability, a little more weight but alot rarer. Also, second hand they are just as expensive as a Zed. What more could you want?.... (apart from an Evo, Impreza, Bentley or Beemer). Quote
Oggy Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 i would love a lambo but being realistice it would have to be another Z or i quite like the look o those new supras however in a few years time would be looking at a house so the pennys would be going there so chances are more likely a reliant robin Quote
rickya Posted July 8, 2007 Author Posted July 8, 2007 Ok after a lot of mind changing etc I have come up with a new plan: Keep the zed cos I love it so much, plus the fact that there is no other car that looks & drives so good in its price range & above. I dont think anything other than a Porsche 997 would cut it for looks & performance. Im not going to be forking out over £50k for a used one so thank you Im keeping my zed. But as for my original dilema Im going to have to work around 1 car being a 2 seater & the other a 4 door saloon. But another one of problems is that if go out with the family (most of the time) I had to take the 4 door saloon which is currently a E46 330d. This is a lovely car but lacks road presecne; style; & now getting a little dated & common. Which was one of the reasons I was thinking of replacing the zed with a four seater. But now Iv come up with the idea of selling the 330d next year instead. Initially thought of a BMW 6 series like Kev's but its only a 2 door. So Im pretty much now decided on a car that has to be 4 door; medium to large saloon; prestigeous; stylish; & modern. Your opinions please on IMO the answer, a couple of yrs old Mercedes CLS. Either a 350 or 500 that, will have to immediately have a set of 20"s & a Lorinser front chin spoiler & colour coded front grill A bit like these; cant wait to let the modding begin > > > > > > > > > > Opinions?? lomoto Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Like the Mercs Ricky, had a S class V8 a couple of years ago fantastic car, would love one of the models Quote
Ian Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 IMO the best looking Merc available at the moment Would definatley be on my list if I was looking for a 4 door car Quote
Zzzz... Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 like the 350z , like the engine and dynamics... and you want uniqueness.... in that case get yourself an imported...skyline/G35 or if the money stretches... a G37 Same engine, same platform, similar suspension setup, but with more seats and if you want, more doors also (sedan and coupe...) G35 will be cheap as chips in Japan now the G37 is out... alternatively how about a MURANO? Quote

rickya Posted July 9, 2007 Author Posted July 9, 2007 Next year I reckon you could pick up a car similar to this for approx 25k GBP easily http://tinyurl.com/2wcr2f Quote

Ian Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 G35 coupe is nice though if you can live with a 2 door & 4 seats. Quote

Zzzz... Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Those pics don't do it justice... in the flesh it is an interesting car and has some presence about itself... but agree it is not "wow" design, but i still think you get a lot of car for the money... Quote
rickya Posted January 29, 2008 Author Posted January 29, 2008 Bringing back this much loved topic that I spend sleepless nights debating in my minds private forum... I have now come to a two new front runners to the "what next in a year or twos time". Criteria: Must have at least some kind of rear seating (Hence Europa/Z4M/CaymanS is out) Must look beautiful Must be as powerful or more powerful than zed Must have some luxury & prestige (hence my earlier thoughts on Mitsus & Scoobys are out) Budget approx £35k & prefer manual gearbox. I have now come down to these two: 1) 2004 Porsche 996 Cabriolet (not 4 wheel drive, though the C4S looks the best IMO) Though I am a bit of a tart & miss having a convertible, a coupe would be approx £1k to £2k cheaper & have bigger rear seats & handle better. 2) OR a 2005 Mercedes CLS55 AMG Ideas & thoughts appreciated Quote
H5 Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Loving the Merc, much better than the hairdresser 911!!! Quote
