VR46 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Damn didn't know about that Grrrr! The Legend that was...... It should be available on catch up. Well worth a watch! Quote
stuarty Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 Was a fantastic documentary. Very emotional Yip, I'm not really a rally fan but that guy didn't know how to give up. That's the difference between champions and wannabes! I believe he would have done it for free! Quote

That's the difference between champions and wannabes! I believe he would have done it for free! Definitely! When he won the championship in 95 he just refused to be told that he was to finish 2nd behind Carlos Sainz. He even kept it pinned when his OWN TEAM members where standing on the stage waving their arms to tell him to slow down haha. Hero!! Quote

M13KYF Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 yeah good show, He is a legend. Great shame his life came to a short end Quote
KurtB Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Pretty funny how Hoy managed a handbrake turn in an old Sunbeam then started comparing himself to McRae! Good documentary though, there was one a while back on group B rally cars which was awesome too (think it was on BBC4) Quote
Vlad Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 great documentary and was emotional! Cant believe its been 5.5years Quote

GT4 Zed Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 If I doubt go flat out I live by his mantra and never looked back since. Superb documentary and emotional. He could and should have won more championships. Quote
glrnet Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 He would have done but clearly couldn't help himself when restraint sometimes was the order of the day, everyone loved his spirit and his refusal to give up and he clearly had a love of excitement which seems may have been his final undoing. I hadn't heard the result of the helicopter crash report before and that was a bit of shock to me. On the whole the programme wasn't bad but I did feel it was more about Chris Hoy wanting to play with the great man's toys, I would have preferred more of a tribute and rally detail but I guess that's already been done. spursmaddave Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I love a good documentary but I am getting sick of these 'journeys' that celebs take examining someones life and times... Quote
