Chesterfield Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 We have to be concious of server resources. Chat systems take up a lot more cpu time than you would think. Solutions like Shoutbox are hosted locally, while ip.chat uses remote resources. The annual cost of upgrading to the 20 user version of chat that uses remote resources would be far cheaper than upgrading the server to cope with a 20 user chat system locally. Quote
