DannyP Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 So applied a flyeyes kit to my car today and I'm not sure if it looks or not. I haven't set the glue yet so its still easy to remove. All opinions welcome And in case anyone wonders what it is exactly I think this shows it quite well Quote
Tarmac@TarmacSportz Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Interesting mod, quite like but for me the facelift LEDs are the best looking mod for older Zeds Quote
DoogyRev Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I quite like it as you have a black roof and spoiler. What about your indicator clusters? Quote
glrnet Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 +1 Interesting mod, quite like but for me the facelift LEDs are the best looking mod for older Zeds Quote
S1 HNK Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I want to hate it but it actually suits GM. Wouldn't ever do it on a dark colour though Quote
Keyser Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I like it but I would my rear lights are tinted Quote
rtbiscuit Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 i've done it to my car as a temp mod till i sort new lights Quote
mat290490 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 im also thinking of doing this to mine Looks IMO Quote
DannyP Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 Interesting mod, quite like but for me the facelift LEDs are the best looking mod for older Zeds I agree with you there, its just getting hold of the funds. Doing this was significantly cheaper!!! I quite like it as you have a black roof and spoiler. What about your indicator clusters? I'm not going to change the indicator clusters, unless it was to remove the red from the fog light completly (slightly scared to put the cluster in the oven though). I didn't darkern the lights to make the car more 'stealth' as I don't like that look. I only wanted to tone the red down slightly, hence whether I like the mod or not. If I could get hold of some decent looking (ie not chavvy) clear rear lights I'd have them. But as the poll is so in favour of keeping them on, I'm setting them tonight. Quote
TomS Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 How do you 'set' them? I've just put a fresh set on my rear LEDs and I never did anything special to the first set and they've lasted fine. Makes a GM car look so much better Quote
DannyP Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 You're meant to go over them with a hairdryer, this activates the glue and stops them from peeling off. Last night I didn't do this as I weren't sure if I was going to keep them on. Quote
TomS Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Ah I do that anyway to make them a bit more flexible when putting them on the lights. I replaced mine as they were getting rough round the edges as I didn't fold them round the back enough and kept catching them when washing the car. Quote
CJ. Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Looks good - is pretty subtle and sounds like its quite hard wearing. Does it come in a sheet or like a pre cut pattern? Quote
TomS Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Sheets, you need 30x100cm for each rear light. Only £15 for them and you get a scalpel to help the cutting! Quote
DannyP Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 Oh and this is Black 1, which is what TomS has as well IIRC, though his looks lighter than mine Quote
bhavin85 Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Wouldn't ever do it on a dark colour though How comes ? I got the Lamin-X film for my facelift LED's loved the look Quote
