jackmidd Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I have for sale non genuine vertical tonneau covers/boot dividers. They are made from rigid form polyurethane which is extremely lightweight, the covers are wrapped in anthracite coloured acoustic carpet. The cover requires no installation fixtures as it is designed to be an interference fit in the aperture of the strut brace. Once fitted, the face of the cover sits flush with the strut brace trim and is fitted directly on top of the boot carpet. Priced at £45ea plus carriage, delivery 3-5 working days. Currently looking for a show of interest only before I commit to obtaining selling rights. Link to more photos http://s1154.photobucket.com/albums/p528/jackmidd/ Quote
M13KYF Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 best to start a list with members names so you know specifically who is interested. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Quote
The Chubby Ninja Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Just wondering how it fixes to the strut brace if there are no fixings. What stops it from moving? Quote
jackmidd Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 Because its made from eurethene, once it's pressed into the opening it will naturally stay there. The fact the opening of the arch has an angled lead in helps a lot as the opening at the back is smaller than the one at the front. Once fitted, it can be pressed out from the boot. It's a tight fit but if anyone likes driving around with a bowling ball in the boot this isn't the cover for them. Quote
Ebized Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Here is a pic of the OEM version with the fittings: tonneau + fittings.pdf Two of "L" brackets are held in place by the 'ring's under the strut brace, and two fix to the boot floor (holes are pre-drilled) and just involves two Stanley knife slits through the carpet. The 4 knurled nuts fix the cover to the brackets (on the boot side) so that the front you see in the pic faces the passenger area with no sign of the fixings. Quote

jackmidd Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 I can confirm there are no bolts, screws, brackets or glue. If anyone still isn't sure, google images > "rock stuck between two cliffs" Quote
nickzzz Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Does this reduce tyre roar much? Seems a good idea as I assume it can be removed quickly if carrying anything long that needs to go under the strut. Quote
jackmidd Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 The material itself has good acoustic properties, so does the acoustic carpet (obviously) but your still left with the gap between the brace and rear glass it would definitely reduce noise from the rear but not elimate it. Quote
Arran Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 As discussed in pm mate il be taking one of these at the end of the month. Seems spot on imo Quote
John tarantula Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Stick me down if and when they're done! Quote
Tinyflier Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I have one of these covers and it is spot on! Really well made, fits superbly (I have NOT had it fall out unless pushed) and looks truly OEM. Great value item. David Quote
