Kuro Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 1. When waxing the car, there ALWAYS seems to be a little stream of water coming from the petrol cap, which messes up yer wax 2. My '350Z' logo on the back seems to think it's funny to rip small chunks from my Megiuars wash mitt every single time Aside from that, it's *all* good Quote
sl114 Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 for point 1, open up the cap and dry fully, also take the car for a little spin before you dry and wax, that way any excess water will be got rid of Quote
rmmackfc Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 3. After washing, you open the boot and water pours out. 4. After washing, you fold in the mirrors and slam the door...hey more water Quote
MITZ@CougarStore Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 5. You spend a few hours washing/waxing your car, you go out in the evening with your your headlights on, you go to wash your windscreen and your bonnet gets a good soaking too thanks to the headlight washers… Quote

You spend a few hours washing/waxing your car, you go out in the evening with your your headlights on, you go to wash your windscreen and your bonnet gets a good soaking too thanks to the headlight washers… It's been pointed out before, but for prospective buyers it needs pointed out again - Not on a JDM Quote
Kuro Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 3. After washing, you open the boot and water pours out. Check Quote
Sarnie Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 The left hand corner of my nismo spoiler seems to have a steady stream of water dribbling over the boot after washing it Quote
Stew Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Dry it properly then! ha ha! As sl114 said, take it for a spin before drying it. I don't to be honest but I open up everything to clean the shuts. Quote
steve_b Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Chaps, Think you are missing the point, do not wax or wash the car and just drive it. Quote
polarbear Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 You forgot about the steam of water from the rear washer pivot. I also like the fact that after it has been raining water pours on to your shoes when you open the doors Quote
GC350z Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 If we're bringing rain into this then I have to mention it streaming in from the pilar when you open the window just a little. Or even worse, in the dry if you spray the windows the wipers lift the water up to the top of the pilar on the drivers side where it then drips in through the open window. Quote

Ah yes, but then you will get all sorts of contaminents on the paintwork and grind them in as you apply the wax K the amateur detailer (and paranoid mofo ) Quote
nixy Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 I always mist the car with some quick detailer before drying - it helps disperse the water. Quote
Removed Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 every single bolt on mine seems to be seized they WILL be defeated by the power of the Air Tools ! Quote
M13KYF Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Where the water collects after washing in the corner of the rear windscreen by the wiper. Wipe it away the it magically re-appears. Quote
Sarnie Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Where the water collects after washing in the corner of the rear windscreen by the wiper. Wipe it away the it magically re-appears. Yep. Hate that too. And the dribble that ruins your waxing And the wing mirrors that leek over over your newly waxed panel Quote
