Jed Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I hated waiting for my car to be finished. But the results were worth waiting for. Its going to look great! Quote
coldel Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 As I said, lucky enough to work (not for much longer though!) 5 mins from RTP so could leave the car with them for three days to get it spot on, which they did. Quote
taras Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Everything matters when colour matching, size of grinds in metallic paint, components it's mixed with, pressure of the gun, direction and amount sprayed, etc. Moreover, human hand will never be as accurate as computerized spraying factory machine unfortunately, no matter how talented the sprayer is. We'll be putting in our own colour matching scheme withing few months time to avoid unreliable colour matching places Quote
SteveRS Posted July 25, 2011 Author Posted July 25, 2011 A quick update. The Nismo bodykit and wing mirrors have now been sprayed. Now for the polishing process Wouldn't look out of place in the Tate Modern Quote
SteveRS Posted August 2, 2011 Author Posted August 2, 2011 A little update and i know you all like pics. The Zed is now in the polishing stage, RT-Performance have been working exceptionally hard at polishing my zed after the respray and i have to say it looks great! Taras working hard in the crazy hot weather we are having at the moment Shiney Quote
Ricey Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 GM is also a very hard colour to match and my painter would have never let me have the car back until it was correct. So they would have forced you to miss the meet? Nope. That is exactly my point. He would have worked all night to get it ready... Which he did. Thing is though mate RT couldn't do this as by the time it was fitted and the contrast could be seen on the car Wasso needed to take it.....you can't fix something without the opportunity to do so. Its looking good though Steve Quote

I should have taken some before pics too, to compare as a lot of the red had started to change to pink in places where the previous owner had it parjed in the sun all the time. Quote

Chap Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Wouldn't look out of place in the Tate Modern Funny that, it made me think of two exhibitions at the American Museum of Modern Art before seeing the Tate comment. Quote
SteveRS Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 For those who haven't seen the zed is now finished viewtopic.php?f=72&t=52856 Quote
