ChristopherJames Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Hi all, After having some slight knocking noises I had the Z checked over to find out I need to replace my rear drop link. Where do I go and how much is it going to set me back? Cheers, Chris Quote
ChristopherJames Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 Is it an easy job to do yourself? I know a mechanic at Lexus so it could possibly be going in there to have it done depending how easy it is to do. Quote
doctor austin Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 10 minute job, IF THE BOLTS UNDO, if they dont get the grinder out but so what if you are replacing them...yep dead easy. Quote
ChristopherJames Posted April 6, 2011 Author Posted April 6, 2011 Cheers Boys, Is there a step by step guide knocking about? Quote
Ricey Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Ok first linky shows a pic with a blue ARB - the drop link is the bit connecting it to the car viewtopic.php?f=9&t=21892&hilit=droplinks The 2nd link shows a little closer up the drop links in the 2nd and 3rd pictures. Neither are a step by step guide but I really think it is a simple as 2 bolts off (provided they come off ok) and new link in. Quote
ewan221 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I got uprated droplinks from at very good price and they were only £50 to fit at my local garage Quote
Demolition49 Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I got uprated droplinks from at very good price and they were only £50 to fit at my local garage +1 On getting uprated... its the only way to go as in terms of re-doing the job, you'll of saved your money compared to replacing several times with nissan standards. Its a no brainer really! Wow talk about being overcharged 1 hour labour for max 20-30 min job I had mine done and its so much better not hearing that annoying clicking! (also got from ) Plus now that i have the uprated i dont ever have to worry about my droplinks again job done properly Quote
