Micky Posted December 4, 2010 Share Posted December 4, 2010 Hi All, I have been keen on 350z's for some time now and am finally in the position to go out and buy! After seeing a few I have decided the 350 for me needs to be:- - 03-06 Azure - Black leather - GT pack I live in Devon and 350z's for sale arent exactly plentiful around here so when an 04' Azure as described above with 60k on the clock came up for sale nearby I was ready to go for it. However...... After inspecting the car today the service history appears to be missing a P3 service and is not Full Dealer/Specialist but rather a mixture of Nissan Dealer and Joe Bloggs MOT Station stamps with only P1's and P2's - no sign of the required P3 service at 36k. After a long conversation with the salesman, they have offered to drop the price to £9k and do a P3 as part of the deal. Good as that may be this puts the service history even further off track. I am concerned that: - Driving the car for ~30k miles without the P3 having been done may have led to excecssive wear/damage of some parts & - The car will be difficult to sell-on with such a mish-mash service history. I would really appreciate anyone's opinion as to whether my concerns are well founded or whether the compromise on price etc makes it a worth while deal? Thankyou!! jay3032 Posted December 4, 2010 Share Posted December 4, 2010 I would say that this is a little over priced, it is definitely worthwhile increasing the area in which you are willing to view cars, there are a lot of bargains to be had at the moment. I have purchased my cars from all over the country btw Scotland is a bit if a gem as most cant be fussed going that far but it's been good for me , granted Devon is a bit far but look around there are loads for sale with FSH with caring owners. This has been done before within this club and it works well! It sounds to me like you aren't happy with this car you've found locally. If that is the case then don't buy it. Simple as that! Ian Posted December 4, 2010 Share Posted December 4, 2010 I wouldn't be too worried about the "mish mash" service history, Its not a complicated engine to work on & chances are most other places will know more about the car than Nissan actually do. Mine only ever goes to the dealer for a P3, I refuse to pay my dealer £200 just to change my oil & filter £9K for an 04 Azure with a GT pack is a good price IMO Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

spursmaddave Posted December 4, 2010 Share Posted December 4, 2010 Sounds like a good deal to me The engine is probably the most bullet proof part of the car, have a look through the forum it's mostly Gearbox & Clutch issues so have a drive of it and check the gear changes above all else. As for Nissan Dealers how many Zed's do you think they actually work on? Ricey Posted December 4, 2010 Share Posted December 4, 2010 If the rest of the car is immaculate I'd say go with it........one thing I learnt from buying ours was not to rush into buying any old Zed just because it was local and within price range.....I actually put offers in on some utter dog rough cars before finding ours in Scotland! If you start getting into sketchy history, iffy body work, ripped leather etc then walk away.....but not before spitting on the salesmans shoes.
