  1. Hi everyone, My passenger side wing 'z' badge has gone missing - does anyone have a spare hanging around which they'd like to sell please? Thanks Mike
  2. Hi Guys and Girls, Whilst upholding the honour of the Z in a recent A-road battle with an E46 M3 my passenger side Z badge decided to fly off and nestle somewhere along the hard shoulder of the A38! Does anyone have a spare one or know where I could get one without paying Nissan silly-money. Thanks Mike P.S I was hauling ass and gave the M3 a good run for it money until she started to fall to bits :-)
  3. A big thumbs up for Clark Motorsport! Ordered my clutch, flywheel and Scorpion exhaust - got the first 2 items pronto and when there was an issue at Scorpion for the latter, Ewen rang them and got it sorted straight away. Really appreciate the fact that these guys answer messages so quickly too and keep in constant communication. V reassuring!
  4. Hi Matty, Popped into Rhino Motors on the weekend. Seems like a top guy and gave me a decent price for a flywheel/clutch/scorpion exhaust fitting combo! Thanks for recommending.
  5. Hi Matty, Thanks for the reply – didn’t even know Rhino existed but will definitely get in touch with them. Mine’s a 55-plate Azure. I have seen one white Z around Plymouth – have you got a Nismo bodykit? If yes I think I saw you getting a sneaky KFC in the week…..
  6. Hi Everyone, Have seen a few Z's loitering in Plymouth over the last year or so - just wondering where you guys take your cars for servicing / work? Will need a new clutch in the not too distant future and keen to know if there are any reliable garages in Plymouth and surrounding areas which might save me a long-haul to one of the reputable guys further up-country. Thanks Mike
  7. Hi Everyone, Would really appreciate any recommendations for a garage in the SW (i'm based in Plymouth) as I need a new clutch/flywheel fitted. Previously used main dealer in Exeter but need something a little closer to home. Thanks Mike
  8. Hi Guys, Would really appreciate some advice on what is turning out to be a rather frustrating (and potentially very expensive) day. Today my ‘05 350z has been for a P2 service at a reputable main Nissan dealer which I have nothing but praise for following my previous experiences with them. The drive up was uneventful and apart from a heavy clutch and slightly blowing exhaust, they reported no other issues. However, on the way back (a different route which called for a slightly more spirited drive) I noticed what appeared to be the clutch slipping in 4th and 5th whenever I put my foot down from around 40-50mph. Upon booting it, the revs appear to jump up ~1k before actual speed of the car picked up. As soon as I noticed it for the second time I quickly retreated to ‘pootle home mode’ as the last thing I wanted to do is cause any further wear/damage. Two questions:- 1 – Is this definitely the clutch going? I.e. is there anything else that could cause it (because a friend of the family who is a mechanic took it out this pm and said it felt fine…which I was very surprised to hear)? and 2 – As I’ve never noticed any clutch problems before – is this just complete coincidence or is there anything that could have happened as part of the P2 service which might have caused this? Appreciate any feedback Mike
  9. Hi guys and girls, Just 3 weeks after I bought my fantastic 05 Azure, the Bose unit has the dreaded "check disc" message which appears to signal the end of the unit according to previous posts on the forum. Id like to keep the steering wheel controls and utilise the rest of the BOSE setup in the car. Can anyone recommend a good single DIN head unit for ~£200-250 which comes with the hi-voltage pre-outs so I dont need a line booster. So far I have the Alpine CDA-117Ri on the radar but cant find any others with decent preouts without spending a lot more. Any suggestions much appreciated! Mike
  10. Hi all, I have spotted a 350Z for sale in Hinckley which im really keen on but live down in deepest darkest Devon and am going to find it difficult to get up and view the car as the showroom is only open for limited hours on the weekends. I was wondering whether there are any Z owners in Hinckley who would be willing to stop and cast their eye over it for 5 mins on the way to/from work? The salesman is making all the right noises but I have travelled some big distances before and been instantly disappointed on a number of occasions It would be great to have a Z owners opinion before I decide to do the 400 mile round trip. Its a 54 plate Azure based at Choice Vehicles ,Spencer St, Hinckley. Any help very much appreciated. Mike
  11. Hi All, Am currently in the market for an azure or black 04/05 350z. I live in the South-West where we seem to be saturated with Blade/Gunmetal - both great colours but not what im after. I came across this advert on autotrader (other car sales sites are available ). The owner appears to know his stuff and mentions that he/she is a forum member - just wondering if it is anyone on here? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201110381440246/sort/priceasc/usedcars/colour/blue/price-from/9000/price-to/11000/model/350_z/make/nissan/radius/1501/postcode/pl66bt/page/1?logcode=p If so, please feel free to drop me a PM to discuss the car. Thanks Mike
  12. Hi All, After months of looking, I have finally come across a great looking 2005 Blade Coupe with GT Pack which is albeit slightly above my budget but I dont think another one in this condition is likely to pop up any time soon (only 30k and interior/exterior like new) for this price. My question is....although the car has a full dealer service history and a low mileage, should I still get an AA/RAC inspection? I have test driven the car and I can't hear any clicking from the rear, all gear changes are smooth, engine pulls hard, brakes are good etc etc. Despite this I am still a little paranoid that I could be overlooking something which might cost me post-purchase. I have heard mixed reviews with regards to the value of these independent inspections i.e missing particular faults etc. I'd much appreciate anyones thoughts/experiences on this. One of my neighbours is an experienced mechanic - if I take a brave pill and go for the car, im sure he could give it the once over during the coming weeks and point out anything which they could then rectify under warranty? Unfortunately he's currently on holiday so cant come and inspect the car with me for at least another 10 days by which point someone else might have snapped her up?!
  13. Hi All, I have been keen on 350z's for some time now and am finally in the position to go out and buy! After seeing a few I have decided the 350 for me needs to be:- - 03-06 Azure - Black leather - GT pack I live in Devon and 350z's for sale arent exactly plentiful around here so when an 04' Azure as described above with 60k on the clock came up for sale nearby I was ready to go for it. However...... After inspecting the car today the service history appears to be missing a P3 service and is not Full Dealer/Specialist but rather a mixture of Nissan Dealer and Joe Bloggs MOT Station stamps with only P1's and P2's - no sign of the required P3 service at 36k. After a long conversation with the salesman, they have offered to drop the price to £9k and do a P3 as part of the deal. Good as that may be this puts the service history even further off track. I am concerned that: - Driving the car for ~30k miles without the P3 having been done may have led to excecssive wear/damage of some parts & - The car will be difficult to sell-on with such a mish-mash service history. I would really appreciate anyone's opinion as to whether my concerns are well founded or whether the compromise on price etc makes it a worth while deal? Thankyou!! Mike
