perry350z Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Just fit a milltek cat back exhaust, trip computer show 18mpg. never get below 20 before, my zed is all standard. anyone know how and why its happen? wat can i do to impove it? mapping? Quote
Will370z Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Sounds very odd, ive noticed no difference since having mine installed, travelled 296 miles last weekend to test the exhaust and i was getting an average of 30.7mpg. Quote
R35LEE Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Have seen no differences in MPG on any cars we have fitted them too. Might be the sound making you drive a little harder than you realise? Quote
CaptainSensible Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Probably more to do with the temperature dropping dramatically over the last few days. That will have a noticeable effect on fuel consumption. Quote
spursmaddave Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Maybe you are just putting your foot down more than usual Quote

rtbiscuit Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 i measured a big drop in fuel consumption when i fitted hi flows noticed a small one on my s2k when i fitted my HKS. but not massive. i'm a bit geeky so i map all my fill ups mpg etc on an app on my phone. but hi flows made the biggest difference on the Zed. Vik54 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Before Milltek I averaged 26mpg on daily driving and since it was fitted its usually 25mpg - does it really matter when you're driving around with a HUGE all the time Quote

I remember when I first picked up my Z I was obsessed about keeping it above 30mpg and then had a little chat to myself about why I had spent so long wanting a z in the first place and it certainly wasn't the mpg. A month later and I got hit by the road tax and had to have another sit down. It's all worth it though. I tend to get 25mpg urban on a stock Z GT Quote
JetSet Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Probably more to do with the temperature dropping dramatically over the last few days. That will have a noticeable effect on fuel consumption. Correct . Tyre pressure drops a couple of PSI, increasing resistance. Oil is thicker too, takes longer to get to operating temperature. On top of that, cold air is denser than warm air, so fuel burns faster... Pete Quote
Chilli Red Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Are you enjoying it Perry, apart from the fuel consumption? Quote
Will370z Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Glad to see you got one in the end, I see you got infected by the milltek bug too Quote
