Shaun1982 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Dont know if this is the correct place but couldnt think where to stick it,anywhooo, has anyone got aero wipers on their zed?I could do with some really & might go get some shortly if halfrauds are still open. What codes do people have? I had a quick look in the book in halfrauds the other week but didnt find the zed at all & you know what theyre like in those places Quote
Stew Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I've had them for a couple of years. They clear the screen! Can't remember the size off the top of my head. I think I'm going to buy some for the gaylander (crimbo treat for it) as I think they are far superior. Quote
scottsoulby Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 try not to buy cheap ones, ive had a set on the celica and they were crap, but i guess thats the result with most cheap stuff Quote
Shaun1982 Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 So theyre just sized then? i can measure the ones on the zed now.Presumed they would sorta be model specific for the fastenings to the arms if you get me Quote
Chris`I Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 If its anything like the PIAA ones, you get different fittings with them. You just need to measure the lengths. I'm sure they are about 20" and 18" or something like that, but best to measure them Quote

Shaun1982 Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Cheers chris, although both mine are the same size now Someone robbed my drivers one in sheffield outside my girlfriends uni place a few weeks back,i took the passenger side off & it matched up to the area the wiper had cleaned Quote
3FIDDYZ Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Tried them on the Zed for a year but have gone back to the PIAA's that envy sell as I do prefere them. 20" drivers 18" Pax 18" Rear (if you havnt removed to save weight, money and for a much cleaner look!) Quote
Shaun1982 Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Ahh there we go look, cheers Fiddy.ill have a quick look on their site & trek over if i find anythin Quote
Chris`I Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Good good, all sorted. I recommend the PIAA ones if you can afford them, they are brill. In lashing rain you dont even need them as the water just beads off the window Quote

Shaun1982 Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Ill see what theyve got Chris, didnt find any aero's on their site for the zed but they charge "27.99 for some to fit dubs.Ill go down and see. Thanks guys Quote
marzman Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 So... are aero wipers the floppy flat ones? If so, i got some about 4 months ago off ebay. 9 quid delivered for a pair, and they do the job perfectly. I couldnt justify paying the 30quid that halfords wanted Quote
DoogyRev Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I had some Aero wipers on my Zed whe I got it, did not like them at all, I thinks its worth paying a bit extra to get something decent.... and you will be able to see where your going. Plus PIAA wipers come with some small packets of magic stuff Quote
rtbiscuit Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 PIAA's are the way forward. most impressive blades i've ever used, and when used with the other solutions or rainex make for an unbeatable combo. Quote
narcotix Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I got some fairly cheap Aero wipers from eBay and have been happy with the cleaning performance .. I've not used the PIAA ones yet though so could be missing out big time ... LoL Quote

Shaun1982 Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 I didnt go out in the end as i had presents all over the zed so didnt fancy leaving them in there bloody useless passenger wiper though tonight, didnt want to clear that side at all Never gave rain-x a try, tried the rain-x anti fog stuff though....never EVER again.made a right mess of my windows, all in all i ended up cleaning them before putting it on then twice after to try & get rid of the crap it left behind Quote
rtbiscuit Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 PIAA have a nice selection of liquids which i will be upgrading to when my rainex runs out. check out envy's website as they have it, although when i tried to get hold of it they were having peoblems getting stock, but this was ages ago so i'm sure they'll have it in now. Quote
3FIDDYZ Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Used the PIAA liquid to start with an its prety good stuff as it has silicone in to help the wipers. Good stuff for in the washer bottle. Only got Rainx as I won some! Used the rainx antifog wipes in the zed to some effect but now just keep the AC on all the time and dont get condensation! Did use them in a mates classic Merc to great effect.. Didnt seem to have any issue with anything left behind.. One tip for longevity of blades though... Dont use them to try and get rid of ice from the window! Turn you demist on and leave the car to warm for a while and then remove the ice with a cloth or gloved hands... Using them on iced windows acts like sandpaper on both the window and the wiper blade and distroys the blades very quickly.. Quote
Gaz Walker Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Don't particularly need rain-ex either - just clean the windscreen with alcohol every few months and wow, works so good with the PIAA's Quote
speedy Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I got some ebay ones about 5 months back and never had such good clean result....and very easy to fit. Quote
Shaun1982 Posted December 24, 2009 Author Posted December 24, 2009 Maybe its a good job halfrauds didnt have a 20' blade then.lol.Might just order some from somewhere now Quote
Shaun1982 Posted December 24, 2009 Author Posted December 24, 2009 Just had a flick through 350 bits on ebay and some bosch aerotwins came up at £19.90 so ive snapped them up,much cheaper than halfrauds were too Quote
