neo Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 very bright m8 had a few 106's many years ago, great little runabouts, u should have loads of fun in it Quote
rtbiscuit Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 what have you done to it so far apart from the splash of luminescent paint? Quote
Chris`I Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Bet it will be a good laugh hacking around the track when you have it sorted. Wont be the quickest out there, but bet you can have just as much fun, I know I used to driving my old mates one a few years ago Quote
stichy Posted July 23, 2009 Author Posted July 23, 2009 we have striped the inside, removed the sound proffing,we are just making the subframes for the cobra seats and waiting for the omp cage to arive Quote
Pimm Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I have just got a pug 106 r- reg 1.1 as a run around car and it is not bad. Quote
Stew Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 For 200 quid you can't go wrong with a 106 GTI. Excellent handling little cars with lift off oversteer aplenty and you can't beat going round corner and it lifting the inside rear wheel! One of the best FWD cars going in my opinion (including all the 300hp hot hatches out now) Quote
M350ZB Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 me and a few of my mates going down same route, allthough we bought a xr2, and ended up selling it one of my mates, who needed a car, so after hols back on the hunt, where you going to be tracking it ?, looks Quote
stichy Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 the first track day, is the ppc track day at mallory park on the 27th oct. Quote

ATTAK Z Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 first outing will be at cadwell park on the 5th march. cant wait Is that a track day? Quote
givememorepower Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I had a 2.9 XR4X4 for tracking, cost me £700 and it was ace. A single day out had cost me just shy of £2k in my Evo, so I was more than prepared to write my £700 Sierra off, wiping out anything in my way that tried to undertake me. The value of my car truly added enjoyment as a replacement for any real performance. You got a steal of a bargain for the 106, and could probably fetch £500 on ebay for it! You'll have a blast at Cadwell, and more than likely tip it! Go steady Quote
stichy Posted December 15, 2009 Author Posted December 15, 2009 Is that a track day? yes mate . thats the plan, a cheap toy. if we stuff it,it dosant matter. Quote
