Andy does some nice wheels mark, if you find it hard to source the ascari penta's B)

 

Yeah i havent had a decnt quote for wheel and tyre package yet. Although i only need 3 it will probably be cheaper and easier to get 4. Defo want the same wheels i think although i may be swayed by other options if the price is right. I need to find out what offsets the ones i had were as they were perfect looks wise. Any help Andy or other traders will be appreciated, just pm me some options if ya want.

Assuming you can choose who does the work and who you buy parts from this would be a good option.

 

I think you are right Martin, this is the key thing in my mind, if you can use your own sourced parts, you should be laughing. I am glad to help out myself but not sure anything I specialise in will be of use to you!

 

Yes i can get it reapired anywhere i like and can use any parts i like. All it needs is to pass a engineers inspection once its done and the insurance will pay out. Only prob is i dont know how much if any of the money i will get up front to source parts, could be a problem as the car has already skinted me out, im sure theres options out there tho.

These are based on the standard tyres, which i find hard to believe as standard tyres are dif sizes front and back, does Nissan just round up the difference :angry:

 

To put in perspective i only paid £1350 for all my wheels and tyres, fair enough thats a mates rate but you can still get for £1500 from sites on the net.

Im sure CS, Andy e.t.c will get in touch with you bud, thats the great thing about this forum, everyone willing to lend a hand :thumbs: , The ascari pentas are quite rare bud, seen a few axis pentas on web though !

Sorry to hear the bad news Marky. Its horrible to hear that its being written off when the asumption was just a bit of panel damage and a suspension arm or so. The same happened to me a few months ago.

 

Anyway, I'm sure you'll get it back on the road in no time or at least find a decent replacement!

Another update:

 

Basically been a local and trusted body shop today run by a friend of a friend. He is fine with taking the job to reapir my car and there is a slight possibility that it can be ready for the Wales meet. Im picking the car up from where it is now on Tuesday and transporting it to the bodyshop. Providing it doesnt required any Jig work and providing the cost of parts dont exceed what ive planned for we should be all systems go. The bonnet can be sorted with some lockable bonnet pins so is a cheap fix. The front bumper may be fixable the body shop will let me know once they get it in there hands else if not ive got the option of purchasing a copy. Its just down the the cost of the suspension parts as to whether it can all be done for the money allocated and if they can be sourced within the time constraints.

 

Feeling loads better today, feels as if the pieces of the puzzle are falling in place.

That's a big list Mark!

 

Having had a quite a bit of experience with assessors over the years, I can assure you that list is very much worse case. They always tend to be cautious on these things because if they find something broken at a later date its very difficult to get the insurance to cough up the extra.

 

Its useful having a friend with a bodyshop as they have seen all this before and will sort the wheat from the chaff :)

Sounds good - One thing, don't rush it to make a specific event, you will regret it, specially if you end up going for something just go you can get it quicker. Spent the time, get it sorted the way you want and then it will be all good.

Yeah this is very sound advice as always from you Rob. I know the pit falls of getting a bodyshop to rush, ive been bitten once before. Providing the car is straight when i take it to my bodyshop on tuesday it should get done for the Wales meet. The guy at the bodyshop is a old friend and is willing to put as many hours in as it takes to get it sorted. My mate Daz who signed up here recently (MentalOriental) who some met at the meet i had my accident at is gonna spend Tuesday afternoon stripping my car ready for replacemnet parts. The bodyshop may end up spraying all the purple bits (lower half of the car) again to make it easier and save hassle of matching/blending paint. This should be by far the quickest and easiest way of getting it done to the same if not better standard than it was originally done. I have quite a nice healthly budget to sort the car so cost shouldnt be an issue and i may even have a little left over for my next mods :thumbs:
