BLEEDING BRAKES

Guys any one know if there is a special order to bleeding a zed with Brembos? ie Right Front -> Left Rear -> Left Front -> Right Rear.

(I saw the above sequence that was shown for a scooby with Brembos)

Any help would be much appreciated!

You would think this is the sort of thing that a Nissan dealer would know.

Unfortunately yesterday my roadster was in for a P3 service at West Way Aldershot, and when I picked it up and went to drive off, I nearly shat myself when I touched the brake pedal and it spongily sank to the floor.

I took it back and they mumbled some excuse about 8 nipples... sometimes happens when it's been left for an hour... air ... master cylinder ... but all being sorted now.

I asked why the car hadn't been road-tested after the work ... some mumbling ensued ... "well they're normally road-tested sir"

Anyway, they seem to have fixed it now, but not what you expect for a £300 service. I really love my car but I have to say that Nissan dealerships are the one thing that lets the 350z down. I've had problem after problem with dealerships ever since I first took delivery back in 2005. No wonder Nissan chose to only sell and service the GT-R through specialist performance centres!

I need new brake pads all round but based on this experience will be doing it myself(!)

Sorry to hear of your woes mate. Please do search out the "Dealership Praises and Woes" thread and add your comments there too so that other users dont have the same problems.

Sounds to me like they havent done it on a Zed before, or at least the technician you had hasnt. Anyone whos done Brembos before knows they have 2 nipples per calliper. They are also notoriously hard to bleed. I had mine done at a repuatable inderpendant and it took us a few goes to get it to work, but we wouldnt leave it until it was done properly. However, you can think it is done doing a static test, and if you dont know how its meant to feel, you might think its right. Also if they managed to let air into the system (master cylinder run dry), then its even more of a sod to get all the air out. Nissan should know better though

Aren't you supposed to attach the bleeding kit onto the bleed nipple on the caliper itself?

Remember that if you got Brembos, you got two nipples on the fronts, inner and outer.

Yes....I said nipples...now grow up......

Well maybe not, lol

One is the clutch other is brakes, larger reservior (nearer the drivers wing mirror) is the brakes.

Without sounding very bitchy ... if you're not confident at the difference between a clutch and a brake master cylinder should you be really be mucking about with your brakes as failure could be fatal!

No it goes on the reservoir so you don't need someone else to pump the brake pedal, you just need a length or 2 of hose for the nipples. Cheers i know there are know nipples :)

Cheers, and thanks for the concern. I have bleed brakes before, just not an ABS system so wasn't sure if the other reservoir was something to do with the ABS.

ok my ezibleed caps don't fit the 350z and the nissan dealer can't even find a part no. for the cap so i can drill a hole in it. anyone know the part number?

Love to help you here mate but I haven't a clue what you are on about

Bleeding the brakes on the 350Z is a very straight forward procedure and you appear to be making it extremely complicated for your self. :surrender:

However if you care to expand on your exact requirments then I am sure that I can help you.

Alex. :)
