mwalker56 Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 You guys are too good, although Ian, i think you might have had a little inside knowledge!! It's Paul's old bonnet, complete with green strips! And now without.... (apologees for going a little overboard with the effects, i'm knackered!) Had the whole front resprayed and all of the wheels refurbished. Also had a drop of colour added to the wheels, custom mix of GM + some course alu paint and i must admit i LOVE the result. They sparkle like diamonds in the sunlight!! Here's a pic of them in the underground car park (not so sparkly!). Photos dont really do the colour justice either, in reality is somewhere between the two pics... Quote
Stew Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 So would I..... I was mighty tempted to buy it and colour code it.... Quote
mwalker56 Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 Cheers guys, couple more pics here, will try and get some shots in the sunshine soon. I had to modify the bonnet mounts slightly to get a better fit, just elongated the original holes on the hinge (thanks for the suggestion Alex). Fit is pretty good now. Quote
martinmac Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Very nice bud, a good bit of recycling, it looks great Quote

Ian Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Looks good Will have to have a good look in the flesh soon though Quote
R800NER Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 yummy wheels... can you get a few more photos of the wheels out in the light and maybe at night? I will eventually need to refurb my current ones and wondered what a gunmetal finish would look like Quote
Stew Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 The car looks really aggressive with the wheels and bonnet. Not sure if it's because they 'match' but it looks cracking! Quote
M350ZB Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Really liking the bonnet bud, think it really does change the car Quote
P15UL T Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 sacralidge...painting over carbon.. looks great on your cars mate, nice work Paul Quote
BulletMagnet Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 sacralidge...painting over carbon.. People ask me "When are you gonna paint your bonnet?" I just flash them an evil look... Quote
mwalker56 Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 sacralidge...painting over carbon.. People ask me "When are you gonna paint your bonnet?" I just flash them an evil look... I know what you mean, it was VERY hard making the decision as the carbon weave looked amazing, but with the Green stripes already painted on there it was easier to do the whole thing. I also wanted a slighty more subtle look. As you say, alot of people think a carbon bonnet is an unsprayed bonnet you have on becuase you've recently had a crash! When sort some sunny pics out when Bristol actually sees some sun... Quote
M350ZB Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Look forward to the pics, think it looks great bud Quote
