This year its 4,900 (the AA), last year it was just under 6,000 at £5,945 (kwik Fit)...

I'm 19 - and ive had the car since i just turned 18.

Before that i had the New Honda Civic Type S (think it was a 2006) and my insurance was £2800 i think (when i was 17).

*shrug* lol

I think im still within the 14 day cooling down period i think, if anyone else can recommend a good insurance company for young Z drivers haha

Hi Gary,

I would definitely give this guy a call if I was you:

Gary Hamilton (Keith Michaels Insurance) on 0845 337 3380

Make sure you speak to Gary and not one of the others, I am confident he will be able to save you some money.

Andrew

PS - Don't tell him how much you're paying, if he asks, tell him its about half...

Take it you've tried the usual Admiral/Elephant? They have been very good with young drivers from what I've seen. Sometimes they do go mad with a quote though :surrender:

Oh and mine might be up for sale in a couple of years. Will be moving on to a 370z no doubt (wont be able to afford a GTR :( )

Jesus christ.................................. I thought £1500 for my old 106 GTi was a bit steep. Try Adrian Flux on 08000 83 88 33.

I'm already a named driver on my dads policy - even though the car is mine - i made sure the insurance company was made aware it is my name, and not my dads on the V5... But its still that expensive...

My dad is with elephant (was with admiral last year) and i tried them both - both were well over 7 grand, perhaps its the area?

I actually tried the following, and 4900 this year was my cheapest quote...

Confused

Comparethemarket

GoCompare

Moneysupermarket

And the best quote i got was from the AA at 4,900£ :/

Are you the richest person in the world? :)

No! haha, I do like cars, motorcycles and speed though - so most of my money goes towards what i just listed lol

I'm sure if you ask most 19 year olds their insurance will compare to mines - I worked in insurance when i was younger, and, even though i didnt see any guys my age with a 350z i did see some rediculous quotes for Evos, Subarus and the likes for guys around 19 - 21 - i would much rather have a zed though ;)

i remember when i was 21 and had an import mr2 turbo running a fair few mods and capable of running 400 at the flywheel on a cold day , mr insurance i think adrian flux at the time i think took 1700 off my hands tpft ..... :( a few years on now 29 and insurance is 434 fully comp :) with a clean licence and full no claims :) thank god the robbing insurance days are over, made life a nightmare when i was younger.. full of empathy for the younger driver, but then you see some twonk doing 85 through town center in an f reg astra gsi and remember why mr insurance can get away with it ....

just a thought i remember some of my freinds at the time going for a traders insurance which is costly and allows you to drive most cars through a loophole, but im sure these loopholes have been closed now.. worth looking into espes if your premium is very high and you have a few cars....the best thing to do is to pop in for a freindly chat to your local insurance broker for a bit of info for the best course to take and what cover would be appropiate to your costs and needs..
