Am I right in thinking all pre 2006 Zs will get caught by this? Being Euro 3 for emissions, when Euro 4 is the minimum needed to gain exemption.

 

If so, is there any way short of changing car to improve the emissions?

No way at all, AFAIK. Type approval is set at the launch of the model, and there’s no way of changing it regardless of how many cats you may add.

My 2004 04 Z is ULEZ exempt.

I was concerned about this when I had my 350Z but i'm pretty sure they are all OK. The TFL website has a checker here you can use if you pop in your registration number:

Yes I’ve used said and it says it’s ok, thank you. Mine’s a 2004 too.

what if i convert to 600hp Electric? Can I present my car and grab a certificate?

Just checked my 5.0 V8, no charge apparently
