GranTurismoEra Posted August 27 Posted August 27 I dont get this guy. He drove the 370 Nismo from UK and liked it. But now he rips both 350 and 370 lol. The guy got used to driving other people's powerful cars for a couple of laps. Dont expect Nismo to be much better although at 51k it better be. That stock car is dangerous Quote
Keith D Posted Friday at 18:21 Posted Friday at 18:21 (edited) He's driving a US spec car and complains it feels sloppy. US 370s were tuned to be softer than UK/EU cars, softer bound/rebound, softer anti roll bars, didn't get VLSD for base models, basic brakes not 4 pots etc. Same deal with 400z. He's a moron. Ekona Posted Friday at 20:03 Posted Friday at 20:03 True, but the 370 Nismo was stiffer in the US than in the UK oddly. Sometimes, you have to wonder if all this tinkering that Nissan do is done by the work experience boy on a Friday afternoon. 2 Quote
ShortPaul Posted Saturday at 15:10 Posted Saturday at 15:10 I wonder if anyone thought to check that the transit spring clamp things had been removed 😂 Quote
ShortPaul Posted Saturday at 15:18 Posted Saturday at 15:18 I was actually looking around the 400 Nismo at GTR fest the other week, and its certainly nothing to shout about. I would go as far as saying,I like the seats, that's about it, didn't even bother talking pic Quote
ShortPaul Posted Saturday at 15:25 Posted Saturday at 15:25 Had to take a pic of this, really don't think I could put a tent on the roof a classic Skyline 2 Quote

I saw this on the comments. Its specced as a soft GT. So is that the sport spec not performance model? Either way its Neeesan. I expect the current company has no real direction. Keith D Posted Sunday at 18:30 Posted Sunday at 18:30 You can visibly see the suspension is soft and floaty before he even gets to the first corner. My 370z with stock suspension was way better than that, the air ride it's on now with adjustable bound rebound is on a different planet. Like I say, when I worked for PAG, BMW etc in the 90s and 00s it was standard to soften the US vehicles in comparison to UK/EU vehicles. 1 Quote
GranTurismoEra Posted Monday at 12:11 Posted Monday at 12:11 (edited) Interesting, they have better roads although they use more concrete. Is it just the market demands for comfortability? Expect Japanese spec would ride different. Especially the Nismo. Edited Monday at 12:13 by GranTurismoEra Quote
Keith D Posted Monday at 19:20 Posted Monday at 19:20 (edited) Nissan have, or had in the 00s, 3 engineering centres, one in UK (Cranfield) one in Japan, one in the US. Development was a collaboration but each NTC tailored the models to their markets (as well as handling things like regional regulations). I'm going to guess that's still how they work. GranTurismoEra Posted 17 minutes ago Posted 17 minutes ago (edited) So Cranfield would be road testing the new Z if HQ can get it approved. I think 4-5 years into the cycle is a bit late and they wont sell. Better of only bringing the RZ34 Nismo and Special editions (Heritage) both in Auto and Manual. Dont bother with the base or even performance. Cap it at £50,000. Moving onto a new model by 2029 and/or new platform. But I doubt theres any money for that after this heavy facelift and 2027 manual Nismo introduction. Many Chinese companies have new models every 6 months with huge investment.....maybe Nissan can sell some stake for better management since they got denied for partnership by Honda and co. Chinese investment focuses on electric arm and hybrid tech and stops overreliance on Renault who no longer need Nissan are already a superior run company. They can contribute to development of hybrid engines for next generation. I reckon the emissions and green agenda will balance itself out if the politics go where it looks to be going. Many manufacturers are giving up the pure EV hype. With Chinese investment Nissan could get a hybrid 3.0T or 3.5T hybrid 450-500hp newly designed Engine into a new platform and refreshed body design. Maybe also consider all wheel drive additional drivetrain will pass Euro 7 emissions if done right. Well thats a huge investment for a serious company. I dont think Nissan are there.
