Under bonnet black substance

Hi everyone! 

 

Would anyone happen to know what this black tar like substance is under the bonnet of my 18 plate nismo?  

It's is on the passengers side right at the back.

looks like some sort of sealant and the paint has not taken to it, take it back to your dealer and ask.

Mine wasn't quite that bad (mk1 370 nismo)- is it just a nismo thing?? however, after spending 1) a small fortune on cleaning products, and 2) several hours using said products on the exterior, its time to look at cleaning under the bonnet. I had a quick clean yesterday, but having just got home today-(the engine bay is still warm) i swiped my finger through the marks and they smeared just like when you use tar remover. not sure what it is tbh. i will try some tar remover on it and let you know.

Looking at the brownish tinge around the edges it looks like underseal overspray, but no idea how it could get there...
