When you look at simple things like how much power you can get from a front wheel drive car these days. I think really old top gear put a mondeo against a testarossa and the mondeo took it. I would say this is a true statement in general. As far as chassis dynamics are concerned definately. However to say new equals better for all cars isn't necessarily correct. New tech also means new issues and more things to go wrong as they push the boundaries.
