Rob350 Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 I need to change my battery, iv been jump starting the last few mornings due to the cold, I was wondering if Ill need any codes for the imbobiliser or if I'll need to recode my key or anything when I disconnect the battery? Also iv got a spare "motorparts" battery from Halford in my garage that I used to use for my track car, I'm thinking of putting in until I get a bosch s4 at the weekend it's says on the battery "58ah 520a sae" would this be OK thanks for any help or advice guys Quote
G1en Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 I have just replaced my old battery with a bosch S4 60ah battery. Euro car parts had that or a heavier duty 75ah that was a little bigger but i have never had an issue with bosch S4 in 2 other cars so stuck with what i know. Going by the ah you should be ok with your battery as long as its not coming to the end of its life. Just try it and see Quote
GMballistic Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Come on Rob, ...this is a technical question so moved from the "introductions & welcomes" sub section. More likely to get the advice you need in this section too. Quote

taybo Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 No codes required when I changed my battery Quote
Stuggerz Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Changed my battery last night in the dark... lol the darkness was not my friend. No codes needed what so ever. Just gotta reset the clock and radio presets on my amazing bose headunit that remix's my cd's. 4 Quote
samsniss350z Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 No codes required, As Stuggerz says just retune your sounds and if you're a lazy sod like me set your clock to GMT 1 Quote
HaydnH Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 As long as you don't take too long changing it! I'm not sure how long the timer is on the stereo, but if you leave it without power too long then it does require a code which can be a PITA to get from Nissan if you don't have it anywhere. Quote
Zeezeebaba Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 I made the mistake of having my window wound down when I did mine and I needed to reset the window but otherwise it was fine. Quote
Rob350 Posted November 10, 2016 Author Posted November 10, 2016 Cheers guys all swapped over, no more jump starting every morning lol, i hooked another battery up to the leads whilst changing so I didn't actually loose any power, only because I got the car with a clarion Bluetooth CD player and no instructions or booklet and diddnt no if I'd needa radio code for it, I went for a yuassa battery for £60 from BBC super factors, I wanted a bosch s4 and found 1 one on the net for £65 delivered from Euro car parts, so I rung them up to see if they had any in the shop so I could pick it up on that day and they said yea we have them in stock.... £130 at least that was including vat lol Quote
Adam B Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Nissan manual says to put windows down or do not open/close door during battery disconnect/change due to weird window thing. Possibility of breaking glass. [Little warning, just incase type thing ] 1 Quote
