Lexx Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Just to let everyone know, we now have Cusco strut braces Dont suppose they look any higher than the Summit one? Im betting not Quote
H5 Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Did the Summit one not make it over? How different is the OEM one from the 03-06 MY bars? Quote
Lexx Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 would have needed at least 10mm spacers on it. The engine cover is too high and too wide. The 07 OEM one is rather steep at the ends before going over teh top of the engine cover. Quote
H5 Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 I would have thought Summit would be able to knock one up fairly quickly then with just a tweaked bar itself since the rest of it is adjustable.... Quote
get12 Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Just to let everyone know, we now have Cusco strut braces and anti roll bars in stock. Will put some pics up later. Would I be right in saying that you would go either a decent damping system (tein etc) or these braces i.e. installing both would be a waste of money in the persuit for performance? G Quote

G no comparison between damping and a stut brace, damping is much more critical you could take your strut brace off and unless you're on a track you would be hard pushed to notice Quote

Chris`I Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Prices? I very nearly had a Cusco strut brace when I was at the Piston Heads show at the NEC, but resisted the temptation. Was £140 at the time, hope you can beat it my good man Quote
Ian Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Any pics of the Cusco brace ? what about price? Quote

H5 Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Now I wonder if that comes out of the same factory as the Summit one?! Side by side they are very different. Was just looking at the bolts and welds etc. I can see the design is different, and if the quality is anything like my Summit I can definitely recommend it! Quote

sinbad Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 I still like the Summit one, but the Cusco one looks like a nice piece of kit and a good alternative. Quote

Did you buy yours just to bling up the engine compartment H5? The decision was lead with wanting something to look nicer, and then the decision was made to go with the Summit because of the quality and the fact it is quite a bit lighter than the standard one. Surprisingly so actually.... But the orange mounts and shiny stuff definitely helped as well! Quote

That is surprising as I thought that you might as well stick an RSJ in whilst you're about it looking at those bad boys!! Quote

The only way I can describe it is the OE one feels like the mounts are secured to the bar itself with solid brass!! But definitely lighter and easy to fit. Just check what size your mounting bolts are as Nissan used two different sizes as Phil and I found out.... Quote
