checkers88 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I just seem to be throwing money at my car recently. One of the issues I'm having is steering wobble/vibration under braking. It's only really evident above 50mph but say coming off a slip road on the motorway at 70mph the steering wobble is awful feels like the wheels are wonky or something. My first assumption was warped discs, about 60 miles of driving ago I had the front and rear pads changed for brand new Brembo ones and it seems to worse since the garage fitted them (it wobbled a bit before fitting them too). Is there anything else besides warping that could be causing it to do that? Any help would be appreciated. Quote
davey_83 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Unevenly torqued wheel nuts I've found causes this, rather than driving style. Quote
checkers88 Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 Unevenly torqued wheel nuts I've found causes this, rather than driving style. I don't think that's it, they were put back on at the suggested 90lbft of torque Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk Quote
ZMANALEX Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Assuming that it is not a wheel balance problem, then it will probably be a DTV issue. Get it checked out. Quote
davey_83 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I mean the wheel could have been pulled down unevely Quote
RobPhoboS Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Just to be pedantic http://www.stoptech.com/technical-support/technical-white-papers/-warped-brake-disc-and-other-myths Try bedding the pads in again in a safe place as well. Quote
Ebized Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 You have just told us you have 30mm spacers on the car: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/108016-serious-handling-issues-help/#entry1617748 Try the car without them for starters. Quote
veilside z Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Yes try the spacers issue first, if the discs are warped after checking you could have them skimmed, balancing a possibility, rear wheels put on front? If the steering wheel is wobbling at different speeds without touching the brakes this points to the wheel weighting. Please keep us informed with your findings and hope you get this resolved. Quote
checkers88 Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 imho its the spacers.. Is it worth mentioning that its had those spacers long before this issue happened? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk Quote
