a.roden Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 (edited) I was searching on a well known auction site for some new seats for my 370Z that I wanted to re-trim. I found some and I spoke to the guy - turns out he works for Nissan's GT academy. I went to collect the seats from near Silverstone, and he invites me to look at a few cars he has in storage. Under the only cover was a GT4 350Z. He let me get a few sneaky shots for you lot... It's quite an impressive looking piece of kit! All carbon-fibre doors, sequential gearbox etc. Edited April 19, 2016 by a.roden 13 Quote
bizizl Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Nice! The engine bay looks very different without all the stock items at the front of the bay. 1 Quote
a.roden Posted April 19, 2016 Author Posted April 19, 2016 (edited) Yeh it looked like a lot was missing haha. I couldn't believe they used the standard steel bonnet on the front :O Edited April 19, 2016 by a.roden Quote
bizizl Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I was under the impression they're aluminium. At least they are on the earlier z's, quite lightweight as stock. Quote
Grundy Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I was under the impression they're aluminium. At least they are on the earlier z's, quite lightweight as stock. This, they're Ali. Quote
a.roden Posted April 19, 2016 Author Posted April 19, 2016 Perhaps the guy got confused aha, but either way it wasn't that light really. Especially compared to something like the doors Quote
a.roden Posted April 19, 2016 Author Posted April 19, 2016 I know most of the time they use pre-production cars, so could of been been different I suppose Quote
Jetpilot Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Would very much doubt you would have bonnet catches on anything made of steel. Nice find though Quote
delz0r Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 HR engine but pre facelift lights. Something to do with weight or just cheaper to smash? Quote

evilscorp Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Interesting looks like a VQ35 DE non rev-up with the HR twin manifold up top. 1 Quote
ZEUS Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Interesting looks like a VQ35 DE non rev-up with the HR twin manifold up top. Well spotted, I've just noticed the dipstick to the side. Wonder what power it makes with the twin TB set up? 1 Quote
The Big Miester Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 A nice little gem you seen there some years to come if sold might fetch a good value 1 Quote
