Matt246 Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Hi All I have recently purchased a '03 350Z (FairladyZ) Japanese import. I have had the Km tacho converted to MPH but the it is still showing Km on the circular meter on the dash computer. The values are actually responding to MPH but it still says Km next to it. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could change it? I will upload some pics once I have given it a good clean (british weather this time of year does not help it look its best). Thanks Matt Quote
sinbad Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 change the clocks. My import and as far as i know everyother import stil shows kph unless you change the clocks. Quote
Matt246 Posted December 21, 2007 Author Posted December 21, 2007 That was fast. What do you mean, change the clocks? You mean physically replace it? Quote
GC350z Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 yep replace the three pods. They're all attached together. Quote
Matt246 Posted December 21, 2007 Author Posted December 21, 2007 thanks! its been driving me mad. Do you know how much £ i'm looking at and where I could get them from? Quote
martinmac Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-350Z-Gauge ... p1638.m118 Just to give you an idea of price. Some of the dealers may have them. Someone will be along soon. Quote
mbs Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 You seem to have been sorted, so just to say Hello & Quote
rickya Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Just stick a tiny bit of black tape or permenant marker over "k" in "kmh" so now it reads "mh". A lot easier & cheaper Quote
lomoto Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Just stick a tiny bit of black tape or permenant marker over "k" in "kmh" so now it reads "mh". A lot easier & cheaper he means the speed readout in the three gauge set in the middle of the dash Ricky.. I just have mine set to outside temp and forget about it Quote
rickya Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 OOps! But I have thought of this one in the past & the same thing could be done to this also? (Though you would need to make sure it wont cover any vital info in another mode. Not that anything on it is vital anyway, apart form speed anyway) Quote
Matt246 Posted December 21, 2007 Author Posted December 21, 2007 I think I might just leave it as it is, suppose i'll get used to it. Thanks again all! Quote
lomoto Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 I think I might just leave it as it is, suppose i'll get used to it. Thanks again all! I'd forgot all about it until you mentioned it Quote
nixy Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 yeah, you get used to it. The values are still correct so just ignore the KPH bit. The bit that annoys me is that it still reads km's per litre - but to be honest do I really want to know how many miles i'm getting to the gallon? No thanks! Quote

No thanks! your right nixy............. if your worried about mpg.................... buy a diesel car...... Quote
nixy Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 actually now you come to mention it, I could do with one of those then I could tuck my car up on dirty wet days like today! Quote
stuey Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 plenty of bargins about................... i had 2 cars for a longtime but i found that my best car was never used coz its easier to just use the ropey ol diesel.....!! Quote
nixy Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 True, we're doing a house up soon though and neither of us has a car we can get lots of DIY stuff in the back of and even if I could I'm NOT putting tiles and bits of wood in my Z! Might get an old hatchback as a temporary thing and use it if it snows - no road gritting out here! Quote
stuey Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 sensible thing to do then.............. Quote
Trev-the-Rev Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 I've got an old Renault Laguna that I use mainly for towing my race car around during the Summer. But at the first sign of snow the Zed stays home and the Laguna gets used. Quote
jim Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 I'm using my daughter's old Punto just now, so the Z is tucked up in the garage most of the time. Will sell the Punto in the Spring though. Quote
