martybhoy Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Alright guys. I'm debating with myself on what colour scheme to go with for the wheels I've just bought. The two options I am thinking of are Refurbed the exact same with chrome lip and gloss black centre. Or fully gloss black. Pic for reference. Ps I wasn't lazy to put the wheel on. My locking wheel nut threads had gone so need to get that sorted first. Cheers Quote
LRF4N Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Had to zoom in to see what design the wheel is. That's why I hate black. All that money and you can't even see the mod. Go for graphite or something for a similar look but without losing the detail of the wheel I had mine refurbed smoked chrome from the wheel specialist including the lip after it got ruined. Darker than I wanted but worked out ok with azure 3 Quote
martybhoy Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 Yeah I agree. I love black wheels but the design is sometimes lost because of it. My current rays are shadow chrome which I do like but wanting a change as I intend to keep the Rays as a backup. Quote
Durk Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 As above... Don't go gloss black! You end up losing the wheels with it and I'm really not a fan... I've got mine in charcoal/anthracite by wheel specialist and I think it looks so much better than black as it's a bit lighter and suits the blue a lot more 3 Quote
Jetpilot Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 (edited) I think bronze looks awesome on a azure, so i would go bronze with a polished lip, actually i would go with a stupid centre colour but thats just me Edited August 1, 2015 by Jetpilot 1 Quote
martybhoy Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 I totally agree with that I love the shadow chrome on my days as it goes well with the azure. Unfortunately I don't have the cajones to go a crazy colour in the centre. I never actually considered bronze. Quote
roadtrip Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Lovely wheels. I'm not a great fan of black wheels but they look matt or satin black at the moment which I think looks better than the usual gloss. If they were mine I'd be contemplating either shadow chrome, gunmetal or azure centres with a polished or silver lip. 1 Quote
Jetpilot Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Gold also looks stunning, but a nice light gold. 1 Quote
350zroadsterGT Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 (edited) Gold wheels on a blue car? Sounds familiar, a la Williams Clio perhaps? http://www.google.co...CFUhVFAodXnIDlg Edited August 1, 2015 by 350zroadsterGT Quote

martybhoy Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 I like that zed with the gold wheels but I couldn't help but think Subaru colour scheme. I really like colours that are subtle but aggressive if you can understand that. Quote
martybhoy Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 Ruff racing wheels mate just got them from another user. They'll be on their way for a freshen up shortly. Quote

martybhoy Posted August 2, 2015 Author Posted August 2, 2015 That is a nice finish on those wheels. Still too similar to my rays which will be on for the winter months no doubt anyway. Btw nice autobots logo! Quote
LRF4N Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 How about a titanium shade? Not quite bronze but more interesting than gunmetal Or if you like the colour your rays are but don't want the same- go for a similar colour in a different finish. Matte for example 1 Quote
martybhoy Posted August 2, 2015 Author Posted August 2, 2015 I've certainly never thought of matte so thanks for bringing these ideas up Lrf4n. I've never done chrome wheels so I'd like to take a stab at that for the outer lip the centre in a matte finish sounds appealing. I'm gonna have a google through titanium wheels. Quote
LRF4N Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Glad I gave you some ideas. The only thing I would say is that the wheel design might not suit all colours so could be worth a photoshop once you know what you want 1 Quote
HoundDog Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Nice set of wheels there. Can't wait to see what you do with them. 1 Quote

Mikevv Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 hope this helps you. Are those Linea Corse LC818's ? Look bloody good! What colour/finish is that? I want a set, but will have to wait nearly a year. Gotta pay off the loan to avoid interest Quote

Darker than I wanted but worked out ok with azure Did both of you use "The Wheel Specialist" in Ferndown? I went there years ago for my BMW refurb with a chap named Peter. Great price, service, and top class bloke. Gave me a discount cause I was young and I said I can bring him more customers if it was done right. Needless to say he got 2 more customers because of that I went back again not too long ago for a side project - V8 Mercedes engine table - and found out there is a new owner Bloody useless to say the least. Anyways just wondering when you guys had yours done, and if it was the same place? I want to get my Rays refurbed into Anthracite or similar colour but don't trust them any more. Quote
LRF4N Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I'm from Glasgow mate I went to East Kilbride for mine Quote
