    Xanavi unit

Also worth looking at a double din head unit that does sat nav. The Kenwood 5220 does it and retails at around £600, or you could always put a computer in the car...
  2. Borrow it for a week and pop up to the lakes Matt HAHAH that sounds like my cousin, i said he could take it for a spin, then some how he got it into his mind that i meant take it for the bloody weekend! CHANCER Did your car come back painted black and with red seats ?
  3. I've done that before. The first and only time I had an auto courtesy car I was driving down the M4 and decided to pop it into 6th.... Couple of seconds of me wondering what the hell was going on as I decelerated from.. erm 70... to 0 rather quickly. Luckily nobody was behind me.

    Artega

Looks nice, but I think I'd rather have a new GT-R
  5. Bah don't listen to her. I bought a webcam so my wife could chat to her sister in new york about 18 months ago. So far she has used it once (when we first got it) and never again. She just chats to her sister over MSN (which incidentally can use the webcam). Also nothing stopping the relatives having a webcam so the missus can see them, even if they can't see her.
  6. Don't need a webcam, you can just use a mic (and speakers obviously so you can hear). I find headsets are the best, pick up less interference.
  7. The joy of going to a public meet, anybody can grab your piccie and stick it online
  8. No idea, but I Have managed 8.7 Km/l
  9. Not been up that way for a while, but from what I remember it's not a place to go fast. Cops and speed camera's all over the place, a fair few decent roads but they are mainly single track and I nearly grounded the wife's Verso a couple of times which has a much higher ride height than my Zed. The locals all know the width of their cars and don't slow down to get through small gaps and will start cursing you if you faff about when they can see there is lots of room. Ditches at the side of lots of roads. You could have a lot of fun on the back roads as long as you don't meet anybody coming the other way and don't overcook it Also lots of beaches which is nice if it's a sunny day. Bear in mind that I haven't been up there since last year and don't go up as regularly as I should (grandfather lives up there) so it may have changed a bit since the last time. The drive up can be stunning if you go along the A55, a large percentage of it is right next to the coastline and on a windy day you can see the sea heaving away to the right as you zoom along.
  10. When I lived in Reading I always used to go to Bracknell Tyre and battery, but that's probably too far out for you. I'm lazy now and just go to Costco
  11. No track for me alas, the restriction on passengers under 17 will stop me getting out there.
  12. Can't wait to see My screen is currently winging its way from China, so I'll get to see how good it is in a couple of weeks I should think (You never know it may get here in time for JTS). Not bought the rest of the components yet, but I'm going to be going with a barebones shuttle, gives me a case to house everything in and lots of ports without going over my 250W limit. Looks like the C701/H701 Alpine combo is the best way to deal with a toslink output but that is going to have to wait a while as I don't have the cash to pay for it right now. Mine is going to be going in stage by stage with the initial install just a working computer that can play some CD/MP3's, probably linked direct to factory fit speakers and a 'cheap as you like' amp to get some sound out of it.
  13. You can buy them!!! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Iron-Deluxe-Mus ... B00093521A HTH
  14. Ah but they have put up tax in a very cunning way. They have given an increase of £600 to your tax free allowance, but they have also lowered the higher rate tax band so that anybody near that tax band will loose out by paying more tax. This increase of £600 to your tax free allowance has only been made for this year, so next year it will disappear (unless they do it again because it is an election year). Do you think they will raise the higher rate tax band again? I don't. The only people who are going to benefit from this are really low earners (think less than £10,000 a year low), and even then they are going to get screwed next year. They have borrowed a large amount of money this year to make it look like they are listening to us and are really nice people by reducing tax, I'm willing to bet that if you work it all out though they are probably breaking even this year and will be netting a healthy increase next year, or maybe I'm just cynical.....
  15. My wife would like a digital SLR at the moment, so I have been looking at the Cannon EOS 40D. Hmmm.... Bits for the car, or something to take pretty pictures of the car......

    Carbon mad!!

DOH! It is a how to that shows you how to wrap carbon fibre around body parts. It details the steps required for covering them in resin, finishing off the resin so that it is nice and smooth and then lacquering it. Here is a picture of his finished product (shamelessly stole the URL from his post)
  17. Shamelessly ripped from another forum I frequent, but hopefully of some use. The guy that posted this is a professional designer so I would assume he has a reasonably good idea of what he is talking about:
  18. Rats, I don't think there is. Such a pity. Could always stick a few wigs on some of the fellas As long as the wig makes them look like cousin it, I could handle that
  19. Throw enough money at somebody near the top.......
  20. Let me know how it goes, from the reading I have been doing I'm probably going to need one for the carputer anyway.
  21. Well my eldest is only 4 so I assume he gets in free Confirm me and let me know how much I need to send to which e-mail address via paypal.
