  1. If there was a clerical error surely the student could have pointed this is out in a reasonable manner & asked the inspector how it could be resolved. The inspector could also have handled it in this manner but we don't know what problems he has daily with this type of incident. Continuous lack of respect, from whoever, certainly would taint your own respones. When the "Big Man" stepped in the student could have realised he physically was not going to have a choice but to leave the train. As for "throwing him on to the platform twice", I think that is stretching what really happened. Now, in our society of suing, I'm sure the claim will be physical & mental abuse, as I'm sure he will have had trouble sleeping or even travelling on a train after the incident. I have to agree that too much PC has allowed the lack of respect for authority to escalate to an unacceptable level. We had evidence of the softly, softly approach allowing the London riots to run out of control. Unfortunately this was not helped by the heavy handed & stupid action of one copper on the G5 demonstrations (I think) when that guy lost his life. I, for one, hope the "Big Guy" gets nothing more than a recommendation to watch what he does in official situations in the future.
  2. In many cases there is a conclusion but I know what you mean.
  3. Jay certainly comes at things from some very weird angles. Mind you he has got a point, definitely be better than the cr@p that is Come Dine with me.
  4. Hope you have a great & Happy Birthday
  5. Beautiful eulogy for a wonderful woman. Difficult times for the family but I'm sure the memories will bring comfort to you all. My thoughts go out to you & all your family.
  6. My son had a second hand CBR 600 for his first big bike, which he loved. Then got a brand new CBR 600RR which he said was even better handling. Only sold it because he moved to America. Certainly a bike you would have no trouble selling on when the time comes to change.
  7. 7.62 to be precise, and I don't believe the camera was broken
  8. Hi & to the forum. There was me thinking 7 years of Zed ownership was pretty good
  9. And we wonder why the English have a bad name. You can bet she has a bigot as a husband or partner & the kid is going to be brought up with the same beliefs.
  10. It's definitely a thought. To be honest, going for £8k would leave £2k off the finance, giving me some freedom to use savings (or create some!) for repairs. Just threw some figures, and taking everything as bad as it can be, a 350z works out at £600 a month (this is including finance, fuel, tax, servicing, insurance etc). My current car comes out at £250, and as I say, I have a bit of cash left over (as well as a pay rise coming, and a girlfriend coming home). If I can be sensible and put this off for six/seven months until she's home and things are stable, it's most definitely doable. I think this answers your question for you. Leaves you very little for any unforseen problems & also enjoying yourself. I think it could spoil the experience for you if you found yourself very tight for finances. Give it the 6 months & reassess then.
  11. Thank god the gap didn't close with the speed he was going through at
  12. Some very good pics there.
  13. Unfortunately we have raised a generation that thinks it has to have everything. The "have nots" these days mean no wide screen TV, mobiles, game consoles & living on endless credit, something they find unthinkable. It's no wonder they can not understand the austerity measures the country is having to implement at the moment.
