  1. Got a wave, I flashed. Think reg contained ADZ. I was with the black Scoob and silver Clio Sport.
  2. Not sure if you got my original PM, something seemed to go odd with it so I've sent another one. Cheers
  3. Thanks. Yeah replacing with a bolt is the plan, I'll get some heat into it then try bashing it out before drilling. Hate drilling bolts out! Y pipe flanges are ok as stainless, will see if the Cat flanges are soon.
  4. Quickie for someone, hopefully. I managed to shear a cat to Y stud at the weekend. The stud is badly corroded, does anyone know if they are press in or screw in studs? Don't want to start hammering if it's a threaded stud. Cheers Steve
  5. PM sent. 1st dibs please
  6. Chris, thank you sir. Liam PM heading your way.
  7. Does Sarnie still log on here? I'm looking at getting a mortgage and thought he would be the best place to start. Sadly his inbox is full so can't send him a PM. Sarnie if you see this can you PM me and delete some of your inbox messages? Thanks Steve
  8. Holset also have a plant in China, there is nothing wrong with genuine branded items made in china but cheap copies and unbranded 'will fits' are a completely different kettle of fish wherever they are made.
  9. I'm an engineer at Holset. Take this piece of advice from a turbo engineer. Cheap Chinese turbos don't perform anywhere near as well as genuine branded ones, they are made of cheap materials that are riddled with defects and stress raisers, they are nowhere near as durable and when they let go! My god the damage they do!! Think about it this way - turbos of this size run at up to 180,000 rpm- 3000 revs per second! That's a lot of energy and inertia. The blades are travelling at about 700 miles an hour about the same speed a a bullet. Would you take a M16 to your engine bay? When the turbo lets go the blade fragments have to go somewhere and on cheap turbos the housings shatter. Branded ones contain the wheel burst. The blades destroy anything in their paths, there are plenty of oil lines, fuel lines, brake lines, other expensive pieces of engine that can be damaged as well as lots of flammable fluids. It's really not worth the risks associated with a cheap turbo. They are cheap for lots of reasons.
  10. The drivers side sender is the primary one
  11. Just FYI my GFs iPhone 5 won't work with my boss hack and neither did my old 3Gs the 4s works fine though....very odd. The 5 and 3Gs don't recognise they are connected to headphones when I plug them in......

    2014 Golf R...

All golfs look the bloody same. Boring as hell cars I don't understand people's fanaticism about them.
  13. Better with tungsten carbide drills not titanium. Ti is pants as a tool material just not hard enough. Very tough but not hard.
  14. Spotted today parked in the lay by just off J38 of the M1. Sadly I was in the mrs Beemer.
  15. Right update time. Sender has now gone mad again. After filling up and driving 160 miles I was told 3 DTE then after driving 240miles it now says 34DTE and everywhere in between from - - - - to 70DTE. Either time for another clean or a new unit. May have to be a clean until I've bought a house.
  16. Mate I've been on a number of track days with a bunged K1 and a static limit of 95 and never had a problem. 3/4 static DB was 93.7
  17. Thank you mate appreciate your input and information.
  18. Hi Neil, I've been wondering about my AC didn't realise we had an pro on here. My AC works fine, cold all the time perfect. However it's not been touched since it rolled of the production line 9 years ago. Do I need to get it serviced? Having read conflicting advice on the web I'm unclear. Like I say works perfectly. What does a service involve? Thank you Steve
  19. Ditto my £16 iPod dock is at work its massive Even if you pick up something in a shop marked up wrong they do NOT have to sell it to you at that price, however most big supermarkets will honour it if it is a genuine mistake... Yup that was me that let you guys know about the dock and it was £13. Ive still got my 3 and theyre all working fine brilliant bargain! I got one too and it's still working! Best deal ever lol!
  20. Yes you get taxes on gains if you make more than the threshold of just over 10k in a one year period. Think it's 20% at present.
  21. Interesting bog reading http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/consumertips/9762004/Shopping-consumer-rights-We-debunk-the-urban-myths.html Seems I was incorrect in my earlier post
