  1. Ah damn, I was hoping I could set it to 4k if I ever lent the car to someone
  2. You can set the rev limit yourself (for UK cars) but I'm not sure about JDM's If you use the buttons on the left of the dash cowling you can scroll through the MPG, Temp etc until you see the rev limit. You can set the engine rev limit from there
  3. Hey Chris, If you could mate that would be cool. I bought this one but it was the same size as the Nissan one and wouldn't fit inside the Alpine female socket. Now you know me, I reached for the mole grips and tried to modify it to fit. It's broke now http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165626
  4. I try to find a corner spot and park as close to the kerb as possible....Failing that (and I do feel like arse doing this) I will take up two spaces. sadly nice cars act like a magnet; if you park in an empty area I can guarantee some plonker will park next to you Then I get moaned out for making the other half walk in the rain to the shops...
  5. Thanks Adam, another really useful post Matt
  6. Hey Dan, My brother lives in Chelmsford so I'm often over that way. Let me know if you run out of options Matt
  7. I was at a Christening in Beckenham today. Mine is a 2003 with a private plate... Black wheels, it could have been me :bye: Matt
  8. ... But I would want pint / good cup of tea for the effort
  9. Hey Dan, In addition to GIXXER's comments (and I am sure you've covered this) but are the tyre pressures spot on for all wheels? Probably a stupid point but it is worth starting with the cheap / easy stuff! I would be happy to catch up one weekend and let you try my wheels if that helps?? Matt
  10. Hi buddy, Nothing too flash but it is a new one; http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/alpine/p ... html?cat=0 I might give sextons a buzz on Monday... Thanks, Matt
  11. Sorry, thought I would revive an old thread rather than start a new one. If I buy a set of new 6.5" doors speakers (to be powered by an Alpine V12) would I need a set of spacers? Something like this; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pair-of-6-5-17cm- ... 240%3A1318 I'm planning on fitting something like this in the doors; http://www.bassjunkies.com/audio/infinity-62-5i And bridging my remaining 2 channels to power a sub. I've not decided for/against mounting a box in the boot or using the factory sub mount. Thanks
  12. Hi guys, one more question for the ice team! My Alpine unit is all up and running but the Nissan (male) ariel connector is too fat to connect with the Alpine (female) ariel connector. I bought one of these; http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165626 but this is the same size as the Nissan connector and still will not fit the Alpine (female) connector. Any ideas on what I need to enjoy the old wireless? Thanks, Matt
  13. I agree, I didn't think the black / GM would work with the colour of the wheels but they look good
  14. They look good fella, when are you going to paint them black
  15. No worries Dan. Watch your dash too as the plastic is quite soft and easily scratched... Matt
  16. Ah, that probably clears up the volume question then!!! The Kenwood signal must be stronger the Alpine from the pre out. I think you need one of these or similar if the aerial does not fit. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165626 Cheers, Matt
  17. Thanks buddy, I done exactly the same, it works perfectly and the fader / balance controls all work as expected, I just lost some volume. My other half can't tell the difference but I can! Oh well, I can be arsed to pull it all out again at this weekend Btw, did your ariel jack slot into the Alpine ok? The Nissan ariel jack is too wide for my (Alpine) head unit so I need to get a little adaptor. My other half was well impressed. So you've lost the bluetooth control for the phone? yep. so you've lost the radio? Yep, but only for now....
  18. Hey Simon, Did you use the signal booster? Strange that yours worked (at full volume) and mine didn't.... I'm quite jealous!!! Also, did you use the RCA's from your new headunit or highlevel output (i.e. did you run the highlevel speaker output into the Bose amp)? Cheers, Matt
  19. Hi Dan, I'm not entirely sure but I have read a lot of audio posts and noticed that the Pioneer and Alpine units generally suffer from decreased volume. I have recently fitted an Alpine unit and the volume is noticeably lower. I have decent equipment lying around from previous builds so I'm planning to change the door speakers and subwoofer and run an aftermarket amplifier to power them. I will probably disconnect the rear speakers behind the seats. Matt
  20. Try these guys: West London Nissan (Mill Hill). 517 Watford Way, Mill Hill, London, NW7 2QR. T: 0872 053 0043 or 020 82038899. WLN are very competitive, my P2 was 199.99 with a free re-grease on the rear axles. Chelmsford and Basildon are all part of the same franchise (Glyn Hopkin) so local prices are fixed. Matt
  21. Thanks everyone, that's quite a debate I started! I've heard good things about the Meg water magnet and waffle weave, the patting sounds like a good idea too. My neighbours think I'm mad and my girlfriend hates my so another step can't do any harm! "this can't be another weekend that's all about the car' 'oh yes, it can'
  22. Hi all, Just a quick one... Which towels do you guys use to dry your car? I bought one of these from Halfords but it never covers the whole car. http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/Stor ... ductId=305 Once I've dried the bonnet, roof and rear window it's water logged and it's never as good after a good wringing... I usually end up grabbing a microfiber to finish the job. Any recommendations? Matt
