  1. does anybody know how to get these light clusters out of the back bumper ? I want to change my right reverse buld (jdm) with a high intensity red LED bulb and wire it to the origonal fog switch. any advice or a guide with pictures would be fantastic !!! Andy
  2. I have bought a 24 LED bulb which im going to replace the right side reverse bulb with, then simply wire this to the old fog light switch !! does anybody know how to get these light clusters out of the back bumper ? any advice or a guide with pictures would be fantastic !!! Andy
  3. Hi guys I have a import with the dreaded £10 bolt on fog light on the back bumper, I want to have the hole filled and have the fog light moved into the light cluster in the back bumper. I noticed on another recent thread somebody cut a hole in the cluster and added one, this seems good ! the other option was to simply change a bulb ??? can i do this??? Am i right in thinking the JDM 350z import has 2 reversing lights, so if i change one of these to a red buld and wire it to my existing fog switch, will all be above board and legal ? few questions !!! is there any regulations i should know in order to pass the MOT can the fog light go on any side of the car ? is it a reverse light buld that I replace ? What kind of bulb do i need to replace it with ( obviously a red one) but does it need to be of a certain wattage etc ? any advice here would be MASSIVELY appreciated kind regards Andy
  4. managed to get a alternative bose system on ebay, sub, amp, speakers and headunit so hopefully replacing one of them will sort it, but saying this, i bet there selling it cos theyhave the same problem as me ! BAS***DS !!!!
  5. Took it to nissan yesterday, i assumed they would be able to tell me, they charged me 65+vat to look at it, the technician basically didnt stipr the car and assumed it was a bearing in the gearbox and quoted me 775 to strip and replace it, but eventhen he admited he could not guarentee this was the problem ! CRAP ! I dont know anyone else to ask !!!! any 350z genius reccomendation ?
  6. I added a stage 3 clutch and flywheel I found this post (below) on another forum and its identical to mine hi guys, i've searched on the forum and noticed that changing the clutch + flywheel will make the car more noisy, but i'm not convinced that the sound coming from my car is "normal". It's a carbon twin plate by exedy (whole clutch set with lighweight flywheel + cover). Steel braided clutch hose, and a new throwout bearing (genuine nissan). Anyway, here are the symptoms: 1. Rattling at idle - sounds like gearbox chatter (with clutch pedal NOT depressed) 2. Noise that sounds like metal plates rubbing and spinning against each other (with clutch pedal depressed) 3. Shuddering (?normal) but rattling when it shudders (?gearbox) 4. Loud rattling at low rpms in all gears until around 2100rpm where it just dissappears. Seems worst in 5th gear. Seriously seriously loud, vibrates throught the cabin. Worse with more throttle, esp between 2000-2100 rpm. This is my main concern. 5. Rattling also occurs at high rpms with spirited driving - like 6000+ Other history When i had the stock clutch, there was also some rattling, but more subtle, not reproducible all the time. The stock clutch also shuddered quiet badly, compared to other 350zs that i had driven. That is why i changed the clutch, but instead, the rattling is now darn loud and always there. Shuddering unchanged. MY gut impression is that the gearbox is faulty... ?loose bearing or something? Took it to nissan several times and they keep thinking it's the aftermarket clutch. I've booked the car to go in a couple of weeks, but they said if they find that it's the clutch that's caused the problem, i will have to pay for all the labour and parts (which of course is what i'm trying to avoid). Does anyone have any idea what the diagnosis is? And whay i should do? Thanks in advance.
  7. Hi fellas I not so long ago burnt out my clutch coming down the M58 just outside of liverpool, after been towed home and a painful 2 week delivery wait i had a stage 3 clutch and flyhweel kit sent from the US. However since having it fitted, when acceletrating, under 1500 rpm i have a horrible grinding / shuddeering noise coming from the car, not sure if its a gearbox or clutch issue, a mechanic thinks its the prop shaft but im not too convinced ! anyone ever had and similar issues or ideas what it could be, i really have no idea where to start ?
  8. had them fitted a week now and the squeek is getting louder just before i stop, im gonna go see the mechanic tomorrow, think a slap might be in order !
  9. also, with aftermarket products, isnt the bose a 1oms system ? and aftermarket a 2/4oms standard ? been w while since i filled my car with subs and amps ! i forgotten all that !
  10. No not had a chance yet, i believe the amp is burried in the boot somewhere, but as the sub comes back on if i bang the cover gently it would lead me to assume the connection lies with the sub ! im sure i read there was a fault with the amp from bose and there was some recall or something on 2003 bose systems, i did have a genuine nissan pdf about it too ! will have to dig !
  11. Hi fellas, just had new pads all round on my JDM 350z when im almost stopped the brakes are squeeking, think its coming from the rears, any ideas what this could be ? I had a mechanic change the pads kind regards Andy
  12. No Idea, The sub cuts out but not the speakers, if i tap the sub it comes back on momenteraly but off again and its got worse, i removed the sub and checked the wiring but its all fine. So Stuck !
  13. Hi guys I have a 2003 350Z GT with the bose ss and the subwoofer keeps cutting on and off. I have read that this is a known issue with 2003 models, does anyone know the cause of the problem, whether its the sub itself, amp or head unit ? Or is there a fix / solution ? any feedback would be most appreciated
  14. Ah my 350z brother ! a breath of fresh air I am currently arguing with nissan as they want me to pay 525 for the clutch claiming they can not return the item, crap !!! also 295 labout fee. So im gonna go spill a little blood and get my car back and get sorted out thanks guys ! Ow you all a pint
  15. Hi guys I imported a 2003 350Z from japan and have recently had to take to car to nissan in preston as i thought my clutch was burning out, as it turns out it needs a new cluth and fly wheels at the total cost will be £1500. I know a mechanic who can do it much cheaper and I have seen the clutch and flywheel kits on ebay for around 250. However nissan say these probably not fit the car as there for euro spec cars and not Jap models. Can anybody help or tell me where I can get the appropriate parts for a impoer or are nissan telling me c**p and are they the same ? any help would be most appreciated Andy
