Thanks for the replies all. It seems to have just fixed itself - stopped coming on about lunchtime today. Hopefully it won't rear it's ugly head again!

Hi all, I was just in town and the air bag warning light started flashing on the dash. I did a quick search on here and saw there was a way to reset it. I've followed the steps, bit it doesn`t seem to have worked. I just wanted to make sure I ws doing it right before looking for anotehr solution: 1 - turned the ignition from off to on 2 - Waited for about 5 secs for the warning light to go off and then immeditely turned the ignition back to the off position 3 - waited for 3-4 seconds 4 - repeated steps 1-3 two more times (3 in total) 5 - After waiting the 3-4 seconds on the final go, turned the ignition back to on. the light still flashes Any ideas? All help appreciated! Thanks Alex

Haha, I hate that bloody dip stick!

You went to Uni at 16? Were you some kind of child prodigy?
-
Congrats getting it sorted God knows where people get their money from these days. When I was 21/22 I was driving around in a 400quid Renault 5, along with all my mates who had similarly cheap cars. The thought of owning a 13k car and the associated running costs would`t have even been considered. Did you lot go to Uni, or work straight out of school?

Finally getting my stereo replaced this morning after 3 months of silence and listening to radio 1 on the way to work!

Bought that one above for my dad for xmas. To be honest, it's ok but nothing special. Main thing is the speed - it's sloooow, and if you have a lot of slides to get through you'll probably throw the thing out of the window. I actually don't think it's seen the light of day since some initial xmas day testing. Just my two cents worth

Thanks very much for the link, appreciated. This new stereo actually has nothing wrong with it, i.e. it doesn`t skip. It just needs pairing with the ECU - surely that can be done cheaper? My last question would be, that after a bit of reading around it seems a lot of people recommend just ditching the BOSE and going aftermarket. Would people say that's maybe the best options, as the BOSE is likely to skip again down the line? Thx again

Well took the car in a few days ago and then popped stereo out, so they could supposedly get it working. Just had a call from them though saying their guys can't get the 'secure' message off, and are saying that they'll need to send it back to Clarion to get a reconditioned one back. All good - except they're quoting me 450 quid for the privilege! I just don't understand all this I read on here the HU is linked to the key fob, so because the HU is a new one (replaced by the guys I got the car from, as old HU skipped) it obviously doesn`t recognise the key fob that originally came with the car. But isn`t this a simple to rectify? It must happen a lot no? It's driving me insane! If anyone could shed any light that would be fantastic!

I know - I was in a real rush and didn`t want to take the car in dirty so thought I'd chance it this once. have never put a car through one for as long as I can remember - and won't ever be doing again that's for sure! New blade and arm is £66 quid from Nissan, so not too bad. Will have a look at current one when I get car back later to see if I can bend it back. Might just take it off for now. -
A rant, a broken rear wiper and where to get a new one?

I've left all my details with BP along with a letter I wrote explaining the situation, so will see how it goes with dealing the owner first, else I will approach BP customer services. Luckily it hasn`t damanged any of the paintwork - thank god. As for the plastic clip Nick, it was missing when I bought the car I'm afraid. Is 'bunging' the hole a possible option then? Do you have to buy a specific bung? Thx -
Morning people, Basically I'm having a nightmare with things at the moment Read on for a rant... Bought the Zed 3 months ago, at which point the guy I got it from was in the middle of sorting a new radio as the current bose skipped. Whilst this has been sorted I've had no radio as the one in there is a temporary replacement, which isn`t bloody coded. This has been going on for 3 months now!!! Anyway, so this morning I take it to the garage he bought the car from to finally get the radio swapped with a reconditioned one - but even then they can't promise that their guy can recode it, just that it won't skip. So it looks like i'll still have to pay to get it done at a Nissan dealer. So, anyway, I thought I'd give the car a clean before taking it in, but was running really late and didn`t have time to go to my usual hand car wash place, so when I was filling up at the BP garage decided to pop it in the wash there. I specifically asked the guy if it would be fine on the zed and of course he said yes.... I was sat in the car whilst it did the drying cycle and suddenly hear the screeching of metal, and looked behind me to see the drying arm just ripping and bending the whole rear wiper arm off! Pic attached I've left all my details with the BP garage, but doubt they'll be willing to compensate me at all - and am now left with a wiper at 90 degrees to what it should be All very upsetting really - especially as I was only getting it cleaned because of the other problem which should have been sorted weeks ago, and wasn`t my fault either. I'm pretty livid. So, after this rant (which is rare for me!) does anyone know where I can get a new wiper from, without costing me an arm and a leg. Are they easy to fit? Any help would be gratefully received, and help improve my day!
