I got a new reg too, so my old (legal) plates are for the old reg which (I fully imagine) I can't use?

Bit of a rant really, and a little warning to others out there. I recently got some new plates made up for my car from Demon Plates (demonplates.com) - I was keen to get perfectly legal ones, as I hate 'artistic liscense' with spacing etc. I even checked they were approved suppliers - which they are: 4. Are you registered with the DVLA to make number plates? Yes we are and have been since the Register Of Number Pate Suppliers (RNPS) was set up on the 1st Jan 2003. Our registration number is : 1338. Now, on their site they advertise the 'Rolls Royce' of plates which make the letters slightly raised and give them a nice subtle carbon fiber effect - which I decided to go for. The explicitly state these are legal. (see image) So anyway, I take the car in for it's MOT today - and later, get a phone call saying it's failed. Guess why - yep, the plates are illegal and I need to pay 30 quid for some normal plates and have the other ones taken off in order for it to pass. Now obviously I was pretty pi**ed, having already forked out 50+ quid for these 'Roll Royce' of plates. I've rung demon plates and have been given the e-mail of the owner to complain. I plan on getting in touch, but I'm not really sure what good it will do - I have to pay for these new plates as my MOT runs out tomorrow and I doubt they'll refund me on the CF ones. I guess at least he may put some kind of warning on the site stating they're not legal and effectively show plates to stop others being duped too. I'd never have bought them if I'd known that. Anyway, rant over - thanks for listening!

White looks awesome with black alloys - good choice. That's the combo I'd get. This one looks good too, though I prefer fewer spokes.

I got mine from CS (Cougarstore on here) and they fitted too - top job. I love it, nice upgrade to the stock without being too noisy, or expensive. I have a vid somewhere of it in action, will see if I can dig it out.

I personally think it looks better with the rear riper anyway, I find it 'slopes' a little too much at the back without something to break it up. I think I'm in the minority though!

Thanks for the advice - though I'm looking to probably get a scorpion at the moment. It's £360, so a nice saving on the stealer's price and leaves me a bit more to look at a popcharger and maybe even some spacers (The addiction begins!!!) Are the scorpion and K2 exhausts comparable? I saw a video of the K1 and it's a little too brutal, but the k2 sounds good and is a similar price.

So, the P2 all went pretty well, apart from a couple of issues - one unsurprisingly being the exhaust... The report says 'exhaust corroded and blowing center and back box' which I guess is causing the odd noise Apparently it couldn`t be welded due to the corrosion. I guess I'll need to replace the whole thing? Does anyone have any pointer / recommendations? The garage quoted about 700 quid for new exhaust and fitting, but I imagine I can get a better product by shopping around and maybe travelling a little to get it fitted (I'm in Leeds) Also, 'both rear droplinks have play in them' apparently - Another £130 to fix apparently. Is this something I can upgrade or is it a standard part? Thanks in advance for any pointers! A

Thanks - I guess I'll wait and see what the garage say - I imagine it's a pretty easy thing to diagnose once they're under the car. The thought of a nice shiny exhaust is exciting too - every cloud and all!

I'm guessing that would be a bad thing? Is it an inevitability if that's what it is, or something than can be sorted?

This is probably not the kind of problem that kind be diagnosed on the forum and it pretty hard to explain, but I thought I'd post it up anyway just in case someone's had a similar issue. Basically as of a couple of days ago, I've noticed the car basically sounds different when driving. When I get to about 3500rpm the exhaust noise starts to change and loses it's throatiness and almost descends into a dull whine, which gets more pronounced as the revs increase until I change gear. It's nothing too drastic, but has become very noticeable to me at least (I guess when you drive every day you become more sensitive to subtle changes). I'm only presuming it's the exhaust or roundabouts as it comes from behind me when I'm driving (How very scientific!) Anyhow - I told you it was vague! I'm booking in for my p2 this week, so will mention it to them, but was hoping maybe someone could shed a little more light that I can at least pass on to the garage! Thanks A
