  5. Yes my TB was full of crap so gave its a good clean with some wynns awell havent driven with anger yet but will let know know. The other think I noticed is that the pipe of the plenum chamber is incredably rough, anyone tried smoothing this? Plus ECU reset is a pain to get the timings right ... think mine took me about 11 attempts so if it doesnt work first time, keep going
  6. Come on spill the beans on the new mods
  7. I have cleaned it up a bit, but I know Phil had issues so I havent gone full whack on it.
  8. Decided as I didnt really need the car this week I would have a bash at sprucing up the engine, mainly polishing the plenum. After using the guides on here I whipped it off, nice easy job. Next I attacked with a wire brush drill bit, Varying from large to shaped one for the more fiddly areas. After removing all the main dirt/filth and down to clean metal I attacked it with Sandpaper - starting on 40 grit then 80, 240,400,800 and then finished with 1200. quick once over with Autosol Metal polish to finish. I did I think about 40/50 mins a night for a few nights and then spent Sat morning finishing off, probs total time was about 4/5 hours but I am really pleased with the results.
  9. Yup defo an exhaust blowing. If it gets worse you will loose performance until replaced as there will be not the correct back pressure. But then again why replace like for like, if it breaks - upgrade!
  10. if all else fails check my sig

  19. Just for info guys the birdview is no longer for sale, he's keeping it (or lying to me )
  20. Mine lasted 50k, it will depend on the elements etc 3/4 years I would say for mild steel system.Get a nice stainless one and you will never have to worry again I wouldnt worry to much about the millage - just double check the service history, wear parts (clutch brakes exhaust and CV joints) and make sure the car has been looked after and you will be well away. and to be honest the millage isnt that far off 12000 a year ish (and i think that is the average) so only a little above. At least you know most of the little annoying faults would have been sorted if they had popped up 60000 miles in a car with faults would drive you mad!
  21. I didnt even notice it till right at the end - grrr i feel thick
